Why do we need faith?

The classic answer to that question is the need to be given the freedom to make a choice about what we believe in.

Does that mean God gives us just enough evidence for His existence so that there is still a need to have faith but also so that if we "seek we shall find"? The answer to my question could be beyond human comprehension but ultimately, those who seek out the truth and truly want it, not in order to merely find evidence for what they already believe in, are most likely to find it. Those who don't bother to seek out the truth in a real way may not be ready to know what the truth is. I know because that was who I was. If youre uncertain about the origin of your creation, that ignorance can be used to rationalize the way that you live (i.e. doing whatever feels good in the short term).

After understanding the need for faith, it may still seem illogical to believe in a creator. We are constantly mocked and accused of turning to religion because we're scared or we can't trust ourselves. I tell nonbelievers who ask how I can believe in a creator that I can feel God. Now that may not sound intelligent in a logical, mathematic or scientific way. But a lot of things can't be explained in a scientific way, like love or music. People try to critique music in words all the time but big fancy words cannot explain music the way listening to music itself does. To jump back to where I was going and not to deviate too much... how can anyone explain the feeling that we're constantly being watched when we know we're not? It's not big brother. It's a natural built-in mechanism. And what about conscience? Everyone has one. What you do with it is up to you.
