OPTIMISM!

No cats were euthanized on Monday this week. (Mondays suck, y'all. For realz. And they are dangerous to kitties.)

No cats died while I was at work today.

It has been a few weeks since I have discovered a deceased or dying patient upon arriving at work in the morning.

The patient from yesterday who has severe flea anemia was near death this morning. It was horrible. He needed a transfusion, but we couldn't find a match for him. I was pretty much just standing around watching him die. He was in the oxygen cage, but that doesn't do you much good if you don't have enough blood to take the oxygen where it needs to ( Read more... )

Rhonda-kitty just knocked the laser pointer off the desk, looked me right in the eye, and started batting it around on the floor. It's almost like she's trying to tell me something--if only I could figure out what she wants! Jeez, cats are so hard to read sometimes.

I was at work for 12 hours.

But I'm off tomorrow, and Sebastian (the dog) and I have the house to ourselves. I've been sitting on the couch in my pajamas, eating pumpkin ice cream out of the carton, and watching TV.

I miss my cats.

This is a very lucky cat.

We buried Isis yesterday. Many, many thanks to _the_antihero's mom! She actually dug the grave for us, in her backyard, under a sapling peach tree. It was all ready when we got there. All we had to do was lower the box into the hole, and cover it up. :( She helped us put a little white wire fence around the grave, and we planted some ( Read more... )
