Cathedral of St. Paul by Flickr user Rock Chalk Jayhawk Cartographer

No mini-history lesson today, just a nice photo of the Cathedral of St. Paul in St. Paul, MN. I selected this particular photo because most pictures of the Cathedral tend to emphasize its location on a hill (Cathedral Hill) and are daytime shots, like this one. The photo above shows a very subtle incline in the street leading up to the Cathedral, but it's a much better shot of the building itself. I especially love the crown of lanterns around the dome, which was renovated about six years ago. In my more recent trips to St. Paul it has been strange to see a dark-roofed Cathedral instead of the beautiful oxidized-green dome of years past.
