Wedding filter (without the non-existent filter!)

I haven't been posting much lately, but this is definitely a newsworthy event: last night we purchased my wedding band.

It wouldn't be correct to say that I've been searching all over for something I like, but in the fair amount of looking that I did, there was only one band that really stood out from the first time I saw it. I came across it several months ago, perhaps as many as six months back. My taste tends to run in the traditional vein for jewelry, particularly in terms of engraving/patterns, with the notable exception that I don't care to wear yellow gold at all. I love silver, and platinum is awesome, but yellow gold has never done it for me. I'd rather have something bronze than yellow gold. I'm not a huge fan of diamonds, or really any precious gemstones. I much prefer semi-precious ones like amethyst, jasper, lapis lazuli, and Lake Superior agate, but I'm not sure they're what I'd want in a wedding band.

At any rate, when I saw this ring, it instantly stood out from anything else that I'd seen. As time has passed it has remained my favorite, and after we went and saw a demonstration ring or whatever they're called last night, my mind was completely made up. Here it is:

I just think it's a really classic piece, something timeless and substantial in design. It felt good on my finger, and it has some great heft. It was also very cool to learn that the family who owns the LA-based company that made the ring (Tacori) is Armenian, which happens to be the same ethnicity as our koumbaro (sponsor/best man), my buddy Stan.

wedding, jo
