sad & grateful
We said goodbye to our Boomer kitty tonight.
He was the first kitty in my life, the kitty who Kevin found that fulfilled my impossible list of demands of what a kitty should be. We rescued him from under a sofa in a house filled with monsterous preschool children!
It was time for Boomer to move on to the next existence, what ever and where ever that may be. But I do know he will once again be on the back of my baby Herschel (my 100 pound boxer we lost some time ago), giving him hell! They both loved their games.
I never thought I'd become so attached to a cat. Boomer was so different from my dogs (I've had 2), so independent but needy, so aloof but affectionate, so distant but always underfoot, so silent but chatty, so demanding but so giving, so much personality and so much a charactor.
My tears tonight are for you Boomer, for your gift of letting me share your long happy life. I am both deeply sad and so very grateful to you Boomer kitty.
