On a lighter note (thank goodness)… I have recently stumbled into a bit of something that amuses me greatly.
Over the past week, I’ve been having strange dreams (naturally). One of them included Jei, Mr. Possessed Psychopath Guy from Usagi Yojimbo. Oo; He’s my favorite character (yes, yes, put on your Big Surprise™ Faces), but it was still kinda random, since I haven’t had a chance to read much UY lately.
So I was thinking about it and was puttering online to see what the series is doing lately. And lo and behold, this month’s issue begins a story arc on Jei’s background story. @_@ See D be very thrilled.
I read the preview, and it looks like it’s something a bit like the Exorcist.
See D be very very thrilled. D needs a good spooky horror tale right about now.
So I am going to toddle on down to the comic shop in the Heights tomorrow, my first comic shop visit in a while. I’ve never been to this guy’s store but I hear he does well; I talked to him on the phone this morning to have him save me an issue and he was nice as Hell.
Ah, comic shops. Damn. Natsukashii!
… Also noticed Stan Sakai is on LJ. Oo;;; Welcome to the dark side, sensei. ^^; I wonder if he remembers me at all. The idiot girl blindly following around her rotten bastard boyfriend at Comic Con. Stan is great, though. I have about 20-30 books/comics/cards/thingies signed by him and an original Jei sketch he did for me, very carefully horded in a frame. XD
Meeeeanwhile. The crawling turtle says I have less than 2 weeks before BOSS. I am almost ready, save for a solution to a dilemma involving pants. I will have a couple days to play in Salt Lake, which will be good, but I need to decide what to do there.
THIS weekend I am going to get my hair done (at Regis, because my stylist is going to Myrtle Beach for like the 123432469890th time this year :P) and finish gathering gear, and if it doesn’t rain I’m dying to hit the gorge trail up at Watkins. Still, some nice rain is a fair tradeoff…. I’ve missed it hardcore. >_
