As the title of the entry indicates, on July 26, 2006, at 7:00 am, I departed Glenpool, OK to head to Hickory Creek, TX where my friend, Krystal, works. Once again, the trip was a fifty percent chance of success; either she was going to be at work or she wasn't going to be at work. Unfortunately, it seems like every highway in the state of Oklahoma is under some kind of road construction, so the spots of road construction I ran into did slow me down by around 45 to 50 minutes. However, I managed to arrive at Hickory Creek around 11:30 am, but I spent some time at the Hickory Creek Wal-Mart Supercenter before I headed over to see Krystal.
It was around 12:30 pm that I went across the street to where Krystal works. Of course, she was suprised that I once again suprised her by visiting unexpectedly, but I could tell she was glad to see me. Since she was still working though, I didn't want to get her in trouble, but I did hang out where she worked for about 20 minutes or so before I decided to see about finding an arcade to hang out at for a while (preferably one that had Dance Dance Revolution). She did recommend an entertainment center called Dave & Buster's that was in a mall called Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, TX, and since I needed to kill some time before she was off work, I decided to go ahead and head over to the mall.
After about 30 to 45 minutes of driving, I managed to hit one of North Texas's main areas of road construction (more like a whole section of highway was being reconstructed). However, just as when it seemed hopeless, I finally reached Stonebriar Centre around 1:00 pm. However, when I got there, I forgot the what the place was called that Krystal recommended. After a while of searching in the mall, I finally decided to ask whether or not the mall had an arcade.
Going inside a store, I asked whether or not the mall had an arcade, and I was told that it didn't have an arcade. Feeling a bit defeated, I decided to go ahead and head back to my car. On my way out of the mall, some sales representative at a T-Mobile booth noticed my Nokia 6010 cell phone and asked me to come over there. He asked general questions such as whether I was happy with Cingular (the sales representative was also with Cingular, and he also had a Nokia 6010), how much a month I was paying for my cell phone bill, etc. Then he started discussing with me about how T-Mobile has cheaper rate plans.
Now keep in mind, I only wanted to find come to this mall, find this arcade, play one or two rounds of Dance Dance Revolution, then head back to meet Krystal before she got off work. Not only that, I work in an Electronics department at a Wal-Mart Supercenter, and my register was just three feet away from the Connection Center register (the Connection Center at the Sapulpa Supercenter also does contracts for Cingular, T-Mobile, and Sprint), so I already exposed to this information on a daily basis and already know about T-Mobile's cheaper rate plans.
He was willing, pending a credit check to see how many lines I'd be approved for and whether or not I'd have to pay a deposit (which I wouldn't since I have good credit), to throw in two phone lines, unlimited text messaging, 450 or whatever anytime minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile, and unlimited nights and weekends for some cheap price that I don't really remember.
The only thing that was going through my mind at this point was, "why the hell would I need two phones for; I'm not married or anything."
After a while of detaining me and making me wish I would've walked away to begin with, I told him that I didn't want to sign a contract with anyone right now, and even if I did, I want to do it in my home state, and that the only reason I came to the mall was to find an arcade. At least, I managed to find out that there was indeed an arcade in the mall. However, the sales representative must've had thick wax in his ears, because it took me a while to get my point across that I was only at the mall for an arcade, and that I needed to meet Krystal before too long.
During the whole conversation, I lied to him when he asked if I had my driver's licence on me and whether I knew my driver's licence number or not. Right there, I was thinking, "you just gave me enough ammunition to have you fired for asking me to give you my driver's licence number without visual confirmation." Eventually, I was on my way without any T-Mobile cell phones, but I told him that if I had time, I'd come back with my driver's licence.
Needless to say, I didn't come back with my licence.
Anyway, I managed to find Dave & Buster's, and as luck may have it, they did have Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, but since that sales representative detained me for so long, I didn't have enough time to play Dance Dance Revolution Extreme before I had to head back to Hickory Creek. About 2:00 pm, I left Stonebriar Centre, and I managed to get back to Hickory Creek around 2:45 pm. Krystal and I hung out over at where she works until about 3:15 pm before we headed out. She recommded that we could go and watch a movie with a friend of hers, and I thought that was an exceptional idea. Not only that, she also recommended that we ate before we went to see the movie You, Me, and Dupree.
Now, I didn't care what movie we saw, and I didn't care where we ate, but at some point, I recommended we could eat Chinese food. She said that she knows of a place in Denton, TX that had a Chinese buffet, so we decided to head over there. While I was driving, I ended up losing Krystal while merging on the highway and got a bit off course. However, if it wasn't for the fact I brought my cell phone with me, the trip would've been a disaster. After about 10 minutes or so, I found a place for Krystal to meet me while she drove to get me. After she arrived, we once again headed off for the Chinese restaurant.
Keep in mind that it's been two years since Krystal saw me eat, and I'm not completely used to eating around people, so when I went up to the buffet the first time, I only took small portions. However, one thing I do admire about Krystal is that she isn't shy about some things, so she got a pretty good sized plate. After I got done eating and as the nervousness went away, I went back up for seconds and got some stir fry.
While we were in the restaurant, we did talk about some stuff like how her family's been doing, how's school been going for her, and what not. Not suprisingly, she has a boyfriend that's into computer programming, she's going to school to get an Associate of Science so she can use that as a stepping stone towards a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy. Of course, she asked about how school was going for me, how my family was doing, whether I've dated since Jamie and I broke up, etc.
I will admit that I was nervous being alone with her at the restaraunt, because the last time I saw her, it was three weeks prior to July 26. However, as time went on, the nervousness gradually left me.
Anyway, we were going to split the meal about $10 a piece, but since I didn't have much cash on me, I decided to pay for the entire meal using my debit card. That way, I would still have money to go see the movie and enough money for the turnpike on my way back. Before we left for the theater, I told Krystal I needed to stop and get some gas (I used up almost the entire tank between getting down to Texas, going to the mall, and driving around), and she would pick up her friend and meet me at the theater.
We were running a bit late for the movie when we left the restaurant, but at least Krystal and her friend got to the theater before me and saved some seats around the top rows. I managed to get to Rave Motion Pictures Theater Hickory Creek 16 and pay for my ticket at 5:16 pm (I still have my ticket stub), and fortunately, the previews were still playing when I got there. As I was going into the theater, I noticed that Clerks 2 had been released, and I told myself that I would see it the next chance I got.
All and all, the movie the three of us saw was great. In the back of my mind, I always imagined Krystal and I at the movies together, but of course, when I imagined it, I imagined the two of us alone on a date. However, I still enjoyed her company anyway. The movie ended about 7:10 pm, and we hung out for a little bit before we parted ways. After giving Krystal a hug outside her car (which her hugs always make me feel warm inside), driving me to my car (I was parked on the other side of the building), and giving me another hug inside her car, Krystal, her friend, and I parted ways, and I headed home around 7:30 pm.
I managed to get home around 11:50 pm, and I was still feeling the high of being able to spend time with Krystal. She said that she would be up in Glenpool in a couple of weeks, and I just hope that she will be up here and that I'll get to spend some time with her. I guess it'll be one of those wait and see things.
Anyway, I guess I'm out of stuff to talk about for right now. Wednesday, I worked from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and of course, work is work.
Ciao for now!
