Wow! Really Long Time, No Update

Apr 18, 2008 18:19

I didn't realize that I haven't updated my journals since the end of February until I checked my journal on LiveJournal.  I suppose it's about time for an update on what's been going on with me lately since I last posted.

Well, on March 8, 2008, I went to Hana-Con 2008 at Jenks West Intermediate School, and while I'd like to say it was incredibly exciting, it was actually the least exciting anime convention I've been to (so far, I've been to RuneCon back in 2001, Mini-Con 5, Mini-Con 6, and now, Hana-Con 2008).  Although they have quite a few events (such as Anime Pictionary, a cosplay contest, a cosplay photo shoot, a manga room, an AMV contest, and many other things), the thing that disappointed me the most was that there were no anime showing rooms.  I usually don't leave an anime convention early, but I ended up leaving Hana-Con 2008 around 7:00 pm or so.  On the plus side though, I finally got to meet my friend, Jennifer B., that I've known on Myspace for several years now.

March 19, 2008 was my 25th birthday, and since I tried and failed to get the day off, I ended up having to work on my birthday.  All and all, it was pretty uneventful.  However, I did get a desk clock from my brother, and I got a new work shirt, a birthday card, and some money from my mom.

Since I requested off the wrong day for Mini-Con 6.5, I decided to make the most of March 22, 2008 and take a trip to Ponca City.  First, I went to see Felicia G., a friend of mine that I've known for many years but never met until that Saturday.  However, my time with her was brief, because I tried to see Gina and Andrea.  Unfortunately, as many of my surprise visits go, I ended up being surprised, because both of them were working.  However, I did manage to see both of them at work before I left for home.  I hope I'll get a chance to see them again soon though, and I hope I'll get a chance to see all the friends I've made on Yahoo! Messenger and Myspace.

March 27, 2008 was my last day at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Sapulpa, OK.  Several Associates had their last day on that Thursday, and the store threw the leaving Associates a party with cake, ice cream, and small goody crates.  To be honest, if I left a year after I started over at the Sapulpa store, I'd only miss a few people, but after almost seven years of working there, I miss many people over there that I worked with (even if I didn't learn the names of everyone I worked with).

March 31, 2008 was my first day at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Glenpool, OK, and I saw many people there from the Sapulpa, OK store that transferred to the Glenpool store and a few people that I went to high school with as well.  Upon looking inside the store for the first time, while it was visually impressive and massive on the outside, on the inside, it was enormous.  However, that could've been due to the fact that none of the fixtures were even up yet.  As the days went by though, the store started to become less empty, and while we're missing fixtures here and there, the freight that we're starting to stock on the shelves makes the store start to look like a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Late March 2008, I met my friend Monica in person for the first time.  She's a pretty cool person, and the two of us have fun hanging out together.  For the most part, she hates the vast majority of music she's heard me play in my car, and I hate the vast majority of music that she has played in my car.  However, Monica, her friends, and I have a lot of fun hanging out though.

April 18, 2008, the Website I was working on for the Langston Business Association went live.  There are still some things that I need to change and add on it, but all and all, it's definitely one of the most impressive Websites at Langston University - Tulsa.  If anyone wants to check it out, you can view it by going to http://www.lunet.edu/tulsa/LBA/.  I'll definitely need to start working on Destroyer X Productions pretty soon so I can get a portfolio of Websites together that I've worked on.

Well, I can't really think of anything else to say right now, so I'm going to bail.  I'll write in my journals again another day, and this time, I won't wait six weeks before updating my journals again.

Ciao for now!
