Long Time, No See

Well, it definitely has been a while since I last posted in my journals.  Quite honestly, the reason why I haven't posted in them lately is due to lazyness.  However, I'm back, and quite a few things have happened to me lately that I'm pretty excited about.  First, I'll give everyone a brief recap on what I've been up to since my vacation in January.

For starters, my vacation that I took in January was incredibly relaxing.  I joined the Tulsa Anime Organization (although, I'm not going to be a very active member due to working on weekends), and I relaxed around the house throughout my vacation.  I did a few tutorials from my Web Development books, and beyond that, it was just a relaxing time.

As far as school goes, it's going pretty good so far.  Right now, I'm only a month into school (due to my school starting the Spring 2008 Semester really late), but I enjoy my instructors.  Although I don't really care for Microeconomics and Business Statistics, the instructors for those two courses make things interesting, so I won't be bored to tears this semester.

This month, I was on vacation from February 15 to February 18, 2008, and while I'd like to say it was a relaxing time, I had the flu the entire time (and a week before my vacation started as well).  However, the highlight of my February vacation was being able to celebrate Gina's birthday on February 16 (her birthday's actually on February 14 though).  Gina and I went to eat at a Mexican restaurant (unfortunately, due to me having the flu, I ate like a bird), and after dinner, the two of us went to see The Spiderwick Chronicles.  I didn't hear anything about the movie prior to watching it, but it was definitely an interesting movie, and I would recommend it to anyone that would be interested in it.  I ended up staying the night with Gina, and Gina, Andrea, Andrea's boyfriend, and I watched some movies for a while before I headed to bed.

All I can say is that I'm incredibly greatful to have such friends as Gina and Andrea, because they helped nurse me back to semi-perfect health (my appetite came back, my fever slowly broke, and my coughing was gradually reduced).  If you two read this entry, I wanted to say that you two are such incredible friends, and I'm so glad to have both of you in my life.  I don't know what I'd do without you two, but I know I can't imagine my life without them in it.

The day I came back from my vacation on February 19, 2008, I found out that the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Glenpool was finally accepting transfer applications.  Of course, I put in a transfer application my store's personnel office as soon as I clocked into work for that day.  On February 28, I received a call in Electronics from someone from the Glenpool store.  They offered me a position over there (they didn't say which posititon, but in my transfer application, I applied for an Electronics Sales Associate position), and I immediately accepted the job.  For the rest of that day, I was in a great mood, because I'm excited that I'm finally going to transfer to a store in my home town.

From what I learned from the person that called me, the store is still set to be opened on May 7, and Market Number (District) 249 will take possession of the store on March 31.  In addition, although I don't know the time yet, I'm supposed to be at the Glenpool store in Wal-Mart dress code on March 31.  I'll have to call the lady back that offered me the position over there sometime next week to find out more information.

During class today, my instructor asked if anyone knew how to do Web Design, and I said I knew how to do it.  It turns out that he wants me to build a page for the Langston University-Tulsa Business Organization.  Since it's been a while since I done any Web Design work, I figured I'd do it for the exposure (I won't be paid for the work, but at the same time, I'm not going to create something completely elaborate).  I'll likely work on a design either tonight or tomorrow.

After class today, I decided to go to Glenpool City Hall (the hiring site for the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Glenpool) to meet the Store Manager, and upon meeting him, I thought he was an interesting person.  I learned from him that I did get accepted for the Electronics Sales Associate position at the Glenpool store, and I'm incredibly excited about that.

Hana-Con, a local anime convention in Jenks, OK, is scheduled to take place on March 8, and I'm already excited about going.  It's supposed to take place at Jenks West Elementary School, and it'll last from 10 am to 11 pm.  I was wanting to go to Mini-Con 2008 (a.k.a. Mini-Con 6.5), but I accidentally requested off for the wrong day, and I didn't catch my screw up until almost two weeks before the event (Mini-Con 6.5 is on March 15, and I requested off for March 22).  Since there isn't much I can do about it, I'll just go ahead and take my day off anyway.  Maybe I'll be able to find something to do on that day, but I seriously doubt it.

This year, I'm getting a $748.00 federal refund from my 2007 taxes, but I ended up having to pay Oklahoma $113.00.  It sucks that I had to pay that much this year, but those are the breaks, I suppose.

The countdown to my birthday pretty much begun today.  In 19 days, I'll be a quarter of the century old (25-years-old).  Quite honestly, I think it's a landmark to live one-fourth of a century but oh well.  As always, I wasn't able to get my birthday off, but I may do something on the 22nd.  I'll have to see if anyone's available to do anything.

Well, I'm starting to get hungry, so I'm going to go ahead and get something to eat.  I'll be back to post again another day.

Ciao for now!
