The snot is never-ending. It's like a faucet. I have to be reaaaal careful because if I don't catch when I sneeze, I blow snot all over my desk / book / bed / clothes. All in all, although this cold won't go into the annals of my worst colds ever, it is one of the wettest. I have gotten a little stir-crazy so I ventured out for a little walk and a little read in my own private corner of a coffee shop. I've started a giant tome I picked up on Backgammon strategy.
I have to thank Gautum, the hero of January, 2008. After my lengthy discussion on drawing inks, Gautum came through and brought me home 4 bottles of Pilot drawing ink from Tokyo. This ink is everything I remember it to be. I cleaned up my nibs and started out just by writing in my journal. The ink flows smoothly but is not too thin. I have to readjust my techniques back to where they should be because the Dr. P.H. Martin's technical ink I was using was too thin. I then moved on to making some drawings in my drawing pad. Whereas with the Martin's, there was very little difference in the line produced by each nib, the Pilot ink emphasizes the characteristics of all my different nibs. The bottle is also designed for a dip-pen with a wider opening and no dropper. Thank you so much!
I have seen some pretty good movies while laid up in my apartment. The Hustler, with Paul Newmann about a pool shark. Superbad, which I saw in the theater with Andrea. Stranger Than Fiction, with Will Ferrel as an IRS tax agent whose life is being dictated by an author whose characters always die in the end of her stories.
