Work has been muy slow lately. With all this rain and cold not a lot is going on. I suppose that's a good thing for everybody, but it can make for some longer nights.
I've gotten over my cold and actually had a really fun and busy weekend (Fri/Sat). Friday was a going away party for a couple of guys at the station. We went to the Yardhouse in Pasadena, had some of their numerous beers on tap and caused a small amount of ruckus. Hey, is there anything so wrong with that? One beer I tried was pretty good, Leindekins (or something like that) Sunset Wheat. It was a wheat beer but it had a particularly fruity taste to it. One of the guys is from Minnesota where they make the beer so he was happy.
Saturday morning I went for a good hike with Danny in Glendale. It was a beautiful, clear day and I could see all the way to the grapevine in the northwest, east to the San Gabriel mountains, the Hollywood hills, downtown and all over the valley. I definitely want to go back and do the hike again later this week if it isn't raining. The trail is very steep and a really good workout for your legs and lungs.
In the evening I went over to celebrate Will's birthday. We watched Judas Priest / Black Sabbath DVD's, drank scotch, ate vegetarian sushi and brownies, and later went out on top of the apartment next door to check out the view. I also finally got to see Will's completed animation reel for his Master's Thesis. He also showed me his brother's new book on drawing perspective. I was very impressed with it and actually went ahead and bought it on amazon when I got home. The explanations and examples for perspective were very clear and I could use a brush-up.
Link Back to work for three days. We've already made two arrests tonight... just low-key stuff.
