The very next morning, Haley showered, got dressed, threw some things together and immediately called Carl.
"Hi," she said softly.
"Hey, how you doing?" Carl asked knowing how upset Haley had to be that morning.
"Not very good. I can't do this, Carl. I just....I just can't." Haley felt incredibly sick to her stomach. She knew that what she was about to do would kill Bobbi.
"Yes you can. I have faith in you.....Haley?" Carl said her name in his sweet voice.
"Yeah?" Haley asked on the verge of tears.

"You have to do this. It's the only way."
"I know."
"I'll be waiting," Carl said and hung up the phone.

Haley looked at herself in the mirror and prayed to God that this would work.

Five minutes later, Bobbi came downstairs. She saw Haley standing at the door with a blank look on her face.
"Hey, I was just on my way out," Bobbi said, then noticed the suitcase near Haley's feet, "What is that?"
Haley said nothing.
"Haley, what is that? What are you doing?" Bobbi was so confused.

"I'm leaving, Bobbi," Haley said trying not to cry.
"What do you mean you're leaving? Like out? For the day?" Bobbi asked knowing it's not what her sister meant.

"No, Bobbi. I'm leaving for good. I'm moving in with Carl." Haley was almost in tears.
Bobbi stood there with no expression. She hadn't felt any emotion in such a long time. None of this was really sinking in.
"Bobbi?" Haley asked, "Say something."

Bobbi stared at the suitcase on the floor and suddenly she was overwhelmed with an enormous amount of rage. She had so much building up inside of her, she had to let it out.
"How could you do this to me, Haley??!!?? What in the hell are you trying to pull here????" She never thought it would come to this. She couldn't believe Haley was doing this to her. How could she? How could she do this to someone who she supposedly loves? How could she do this to her own sister???
"Bobbi, I have to." Haley said calmly, trying not to lose her cool.
"BULL!!! You just can't handle living with me, is that it???? Am I too much for you, Haley??? Well La Ti Da. Miss Perfect who HANDLES EVERYTHING THROWN AT HER CAN'T EVEN HANDLE HER OWN SISTER!!!!!! WELL GET OUT THEN!!!!!!" Bobbi screamed furiously.

At that moment, Haley lost it. She began to cry. She knew she would. She knew this was going to be hard. How could she do this? How could she leave her sister? She couldn't. She just couldn't. Then the words of her fiance flashed through her mind, 'You have to do this. It's the only way.'

Before she knew it, Bobbi had stormed up to her and was pointing her bony little finger in her face, "YOU OF ALL PEOPLE, HALEY! I NEVER THOUGHT! EVER! YOU OF ALL PEOPLE!" Bobbi screamed. She didn't know what she was saying. She was so angry. She wished she could go back in time and fix every mistake she had made. She wished so badly at that moment.
"Bobbi, please calm down and just hear me out," Haley pleaded.
"WHY SHOULD I?" Bobbi yelled immaturely.
"I don't want to go," Haley had stopped crying. She felt the strength inside of her. She knew she could do this, "It's not about that."
"What is it about then?" Bobbi asked still raising her voice.
"You."
"ME??" Bobbi felt she could rip her hair out at that second.
"You need me to do this, Bobbi. You need to take care of your daughter. This is the only way I know how to make you."
Bobbi stood there in silence. She felt the anger turn into depression. Every emotion that she had felt recently were attacking her in those few minutes.

"How, Haley?" Bobbi asked, "How could you leave me now? After everything I have been through. With Joey, Romeo, and......and.....how could you leave now?"
Haley remained strong even though her heart was breaking into pieces seeing her sister hurt so badly, "Bobbi, I need you to understand the reason for me leaving. I love you more than anything in this world.....but...."

"Then don't go," Bobbi said instantly.
Haley started to choke up, "I'm going......I have to."
"I dont understand, Haley. I just don't get it. You say you love me more than anything, but you're leaving me at the time that I need you the most? I just don't get it."
"If I stay, Bobbi, I fear you'll never acknowledge your daughter. And you cannot go on pretending like she isn't yours. You just can't! I couldn't imagine that little girl living the rest of her life without the love of her real mother."
"She's not my baby. She's his." Bobby said softly.
"Wake up, Bobbi!! You can't keep doing this. That little girl needs you right now. She's more alone at this age than you have ever been in your entire life. It's not right for you to keep treating her like she means nothing to you. She is your daughter! YOUR DAUGHTER! You gave birth to her......She's not that ASS'S daughter. He doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself!!!!!......And when I go, the both of you will need each other more than anything. And then you'll see."
Bobbi became upset, "FINE! GO!" She walked away from Haley just feeling as if she could cry for an entire lifetime.

"Bobbi, I don't want to leave like this. I want to know that you believe everything will be ok. I need you to believe that," Haley said as she walked over to her suitcase. She couldn't believe she was going to do it. She was going to leave. She had stayed strong through it all....until....

"I can't do it, Haley. I can't take care of her. I don't.......I don't......" Bobbi wept.
Haley looked at her sister and, oddly, at that moment, she knew that her sister had it in her to mother that child. She was no longer emotionless. She was feeling everything again. It might take a little time, but she knew this was right. She just had to make Bobbi believe that.
"Bobbi, listen to me. You have always been that girl who achieves anything she sets her mind on. You know that. The first step is believing in yourself which you always have. You can get there again. I know you can. I have faith in you."

"No! I can't do this. I don't believe in myself! I have nothing going for me." Bobbi continued to cry harder.

"That not true, Bobbi, and you know it." Haley knew it was time to go, "I'm gonna go now."
Bobbi began to sob louder.
Haley held in her tears, "Hug me, Bobbi."

Bobbi wiped her tears away and walked angrily away from her sister. The one she always thought would be there for her through everything was leaving her just like the rest. Everyone had left her. She had no one else..............
"Well, ok, then," Haley said sadly as a single tear rolled down her cheek. She then picked her suitcase up off the floor and said, "I love you Bobbi. I hope you know that."

Bobbi stood there crying helplessly.

Haley slowly walked to her car. A part of her had felt great for actually doing what she said she was going to do. She knew this was for the best. She knew it would help the relationship between Bobbi and her baby girl. She knew it. But another part of her felt extremely terrible. She hated leaving Bobbi without anyone to confide in but a baby she did not want. She knew it was killing her. If only, she could see.

Just then Bobbi ran out of the house towards her sister, "WAIT!" she yelled.
Haley dropped her suitcase.

"I love you, Haley!" Bobbi said as she cried on her sister's shoulder.
Haley began to cry as well, "Oh Bobbi! I love you too! More than anything.
"I don't think I can do this," Bobbi said.
"I don't think you can. I know you can. There's no doubt in my mind." Haley held her sister tighter.

The two sisters hugged and cried for a little while longer, until it was time for Haley to leave. Then within a matter of seconds, she was gone.

Bobbi looked at the empty parking space in the driveway and continuously cried to herself. What was she going to do? How was she going to do this? She had no idea about anything anymore.

Everything was a blur to her at that moment. Haley was gone. What would she possibly do without her? Haley was her sister. Her best friend. Her emotional support. Her shoulder to cry on. If she didn't have Haley, who did she have?

She felt more alone than she had ever felt in her life.

The next day, Baby Girl continued to cry. Non stop. She no longer had Haley there to love her and care for her. She didn't understand at all what was happening. Bobbi had to go to work that night, so she hired a nanny to take care of her baby. The first step to mothering? Sure. But she still didn't feel an ounce of closeness to her.

That night, Bobbi returned from work, and smelled something very funny. She listened closely and she could hear her daughter screaming violently. She then looked over to her left , "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

HER HOUSE WAS ON FIRE!!!!!!!

To Bobbi's surprise, the one and only thing she thought of as she ran towards the flames, was the safety of her baby girl.
