Scene Name: Meeting of the Blondes
Rating: PG
Warnings: None that I can think of unless you count mentions of Demyx's virginity
Couple/Characters involved: Demyx, Roxas
Short Summary: The roommates finally meet.
Demyx sighed as he stared around the empty room, walking over to his bed and going to his knees, sliding his guitar out of the case that was partially under the bed. He propped himself up on several pillows as he strummed the strings idly, trying to decide on what he was in the mood for.
Roxas had been the first to move about half of his stuff into the room he was going be sharing with someone for the next several months. Stuff included one of his precious guitars. He had taken some time out from getting comfortable in his room to check out the rest of the house. One his way back, the sounds of a guitar reached filled the hallway and immediately thought the worst someone decided it would be awesome to play his guitar.
Demyx chuckled to himself as he picked a song, his mothers love of Disney had rubbed off of him as much as he hated to admit it. He hummed softly to himself, his eyes closing as he played the familiar chords, allowing the music to wash over him.
"What the..." Roxas muttered to himself, picking up his speed down to the room he had moved into and walked into the door, "Okay, who're you and what are you doing with my guitar...that...actually isn't mine." he finished, eyebrow raised. "And were you just playing a Disney song?"
Demyx gasped softly at the sudden intrusion, holding his guitar protectively to his chest. "Maybe," he said softly, flushing slighty at the fact that he had got caught playing something Disney related.
Roxas shook his head, "Uh huh..." He turned his gaze onto Demyx's guitar. Right, that didn't belong to the blond haired boy at all. If he remembered, his own precious guitar was darker. "So was that Hercules?"
"Uh, yeah it was actually," he admitted with a sheepish smile. "I take it you belong to that," he said with a soft chuckle, pointing toward the guitar on the other side of the room.
"Yep, That one's mine." Roxas replied, hand scratching at his blonde spikes. "So tell me, are Disney songs all you play?" This time Roxas was teasing Demyx a little, a smile playing about his lips as he walked over to his bed and sat on the edge of it.
"Not always, just when I can't think of anything else," he said with a grin as he looked over at Roxas. "I'm Demyx by the way."
"Roxas." was this simple response, followed by him extending his hand toward Demyx. "A warning in the future. I tend to get hit with random inspiration at late hours sometimes so...expect guitar playing."
"I sleep like a rock, I doubt the roof falling down could wake me." He held out his own hand, shaking his roommates. "besides, playing guitar makes one oblivious to others playing at weird hours."
Roxas laughed, "Heavy sleeper, hm? My old roomate in college was like that." He sat cross legged on his bed this time, "So, how'd you wind up on this reality show? You look like you can't be any older than eighteen or something like that."
"Close. I just turned nineteen last week," he said as he set his guitar aside and curled his legs beneath him. "As for how I got here...long story short, I had a very sheltered childhood and still live with very overprotective parents. I guess you could say that this my way of finally breaking out of their shadows, a little belated teenage rebellion."
"What brings you here?"
"Ah, teenage rebellion, that's always fun." Roxas replied, "I'm here to enjoy a bit more of my life and eventually get my music out on the airwaves. I used to go to college, I was supposed to be a future lawyer because both my parents are but I dropped out of getting my Bachelor's degree because it really wasn't for me. Parents were pissed, but they learned to get over it."
Demyx just kind of stared at him in shock. "You have to be freaking kidding me. I'm in law school against my will. My parents refuse to pay for any other profession because they're both lawyers."
"Freakkyyyy." Roxas replied, making a face. "Yeah, my parents said it runs in the family, but I'm the first to end it I guess. They still think I'm their little boy though and like 'checking up on me'...never mind the fact I'm and don't need them to. I guess they're hoping I have a change of heart."
"I dropped out of school to do this show... and as much as my parents have threatened, I might not have a home to go back to when this is all over. But I'm okay with that surprisingly enough," he said with a shrug as he smiled over at Roxas.
"I was threatened with that too. But I'm sure your parents love you to pieces. Besides, you do sound like you'd be okay if they kicked you out. You know what you're gonna do if that happens?" Roxas asked.
"Is it sad that part of me hopes they follow through on their threat. I don't think I could go back to their house and their rules after being here with absolute freedom," he mused, chewing on his lower lip as he thought it over. "I have no clue where I'd go, maybe a friends place or something. I'll cross that bridge when it gets here."
"I don't think it's sad you feel that way." Roxas replied, lying back on his bed, stretching out his arms and legs, "Here you're free as a bird as long as you don't violate any contracts with the producers. I wouldn't go back to sheltered parents either."
"But enough about me, it's one of my least favorite subjects. You said you were trying to get your music career started?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
"Yep. I've written and recorded a few songs, it's just a matter of getting them out there." Roxas replied. "One room in my apartment is just for the music."
"That's really cool! I'm sure you'll make it, just don't pull a me and play disney songs," he teased as he stretched out on his stomach.
"I'll make sure of that. Disney seems to be your forté. Despite it being Hercules, it was really good." Roxas replied.
Demyx laughed. "It wasn't that good. I taught myself to play one summer back in high school. Wasn't that hard."
"Yeah I'm self taught too. I was already trying to play stuff that was out of my league. Though I can say I turned out alright if I can play bass guitar too." Roxas replied, utterly proud of himself. He'd spent most of his teenage years teaching himself and briefly stopped because of the stress of college and all those law classes. It was nice to fully immerse himself into music again once he left college.
"I haven't even attempted to play bass yet. I'll toyed with the idea but never had a chance to get a hold of one. I'm lucky to even have this one, I was just never allowed to play in in the house. Made learning and practicing very interesting." He gave Roxas a sunny smile. "Maybe its a good thing they stuck us together, we can play without worrying about keeping anyone else up."
"Definitely. I left my bass guitar at my house though so unfortunately you couldn't attempt play it. That aside, I think you and I will be great roommates." Roxas smiled at that. He was with someone who had a heck of a lot in common with him, so this wouldn't be bad at all.
"Have you met anyone else in the house? I've been pretty anti-social and have only managed to meet you and Sora."
"You know, not really, I think I met two of the contestants at the pre screening party. Axel and Larxene. I also met Olette." Roxas replied.
Demyx snorted at the mention of Axel. "Ah, Axel. I've heard all about him from Sora. Apparently he has a habit of piercing people when they pass out."
"Let's hope it's only when they want a piercing. I'd rather not wake up and find something pierced." Roxas said this time, not wanting to think of the possibilities.
"Tell me about it. I have nothing pierced and would like to keep it that way for a while," he said with a grin. "Though I think sora might have been a special case. They, uh, slept together before the piercing happened." As much as he tried, he couldn't stop the flush from spreading across his face at his last comment.
"Oh yeaaaah, that's right. Sora told me that over breakfast this morning with Olette." Roxas replied, as if it were nothing. He did however notice Demyx's face flush and he had to ask, "Too much information?"
Demyx shrugged. It was bad enough that Sora had pegged him for a virgin, he wasn't sure he wanted the news to get around the entire house. "It was a very weird thing to find out upon first meeting Sora."
"It is weird if you're completely, totally innocent. Or a virgin in plain terms." was the nonchalant response from Roxas this time as he turned onto his stomach.
The flush on his face brightened as he suddenly became very interested in the blankets on the bed.
"Ah-you are, aren't you?" Roxas questioned.
Demyx nodded quickly. "Is it that obvious?"
Roxas grabbed one of his pillows, "Judging from the way you blushed and then got all quiet? Yeah, it's pretty obvious. Not to worry though, your secret is safe with me...and millions of viewers who are watching by the way if the cameras are rolling right now." Hopefully, they weren't running just yet.
He chuckled. "Well, the secret is safe with you and Sora..and whoever Sora happens to have told." He paled slightly as he thought of the cameras...that kiss with sora, had the cameras captured that?
"I'm pretty sure he hasn't told any one." Roxas replied. "However, I think that if this show is as crazy as it's making itself out to be. You won't leave here with your virginity."
He shrugged. "We'll just have to see about that." He wasn't sure how he felt about that assumption, he'd just have to take things in stride and hopefully he wouldn't do anything stupid.
"I'm pretty sure your anti-social ways will fade out too. You've got tons of social people who are gonna talk to you." Roxas said, "I'm one of them, and you're talking to me without a problem."
"I'm not as shy as I used to be. There was a time I would shake if i had to talk to anyone. High school has a way of making you interract with people." He smiled. "I still have issues starting conversations with people, but as long as they talk to me first, I'm fine."
"High school is full of drama. It's Hell on earth." Roxas spoke, laughing a little. "And don't worry I'm sure you'll grow out of that. All it takes is a 'Hi' to start a conversation."
Demyx smiled and nodded as he picked his guitar back up, strumming it absently; maybe the being here would be good for him.
