Wataru's theme is playing, then that means only one thing: Time for another network concert! Once he finishes playing what could be considered the opening theme of him wasting about half an hour of your time, he begins to speak softly

You do sell yourself short, though, if you're worried about your music.

Thanks. I think I like making violins more, but I like playing, too.

I play, but only a little and I'm not very good - I don't practice nearly enough.

I'd like to hear you play some time. If you need lessons, I can help. I used to give lessons back home.

It would be much appreciated - I just arrived here and I admit, besides getting my bearings I've been a little at odds; I'm used to having work, and it...hasn't been happening much.

If you know where the university or The Frogs is, you can find my place. It's called Kurenai Violins & Repair.
What kind of work do you do?

I've just transferred into the university - so I probably don't live far from there, either.
I'm a detective - I normally work independently, called in either by police or by someone involved who wants an extra set of hands in the investigation, mostly on criminal cases. I seem to have picked up a specialization in homicide and the more confusing or bizarre cases, although not all of them are dangerous.
I do admit, I grew up around the police back home and the familiarity helped.

If you need extra work, I'm looking for another employee. It's not exciting like being a detective.

I'd like to think so, but really, a lot of what I do is less some kind of grand stroke of genius and more just finding details and putting together bits of information - a long time spent practicing thinking in terms of paying attention to what usually gets taken for granted. It's never seemed that hard, and it's usually surprisingly simple, but a lot of people get used to glossing over everyday small things and not thinking about them much so they miss things.
I might consider it, particularly if my inbox stays empty - I have some travel funds, but I don't know how long they'll last if I can't find work. I don't know how much help I'd be.

You would just help customers, check them out, carry boxes maybe, help with moving stock around, collecting peanut shells and snails. Nothing strange.

It's a lot of practice, and even if you're used to it, it's easy to start tuning out things that you're used to. But then, it is mostly just taking some time when there's a moment here or there to try to pay attention to some little things and think about what they'd mean - what kind of work someone with odd callouses on their hands does, how people dress and why they dress that way, what could've caused that scrape in the carpet there at a scene.
Ah - I've been told my people skills are a little lacking; I've been trying to work on that, but it's scarily easy to put people off. I certainly could try, though, and at this rate, it'd certainly not be bad work at all.

That would be cool to see in person. You could walk into my room and tell me what's weird other than what's already weird. I guess I'm weird.
I'm trying to be more of a people person, too. My civilian officer tried to get me more normal. My brother is helping more.
