Live Free or Die Hard: the brief recs edition
So, I am in the middle of writing an epic, ridiculous Die Hard 4 McClane/Farrell story that won't leave me alone. IDEK, WTF, insert incredulous and/or bemused acronym of choice here. But sometimes I stop to read an awesome story over again. I'm sure anyone who cares has read all/most of these already. But here's a short list of recs. I'll do another list later. I HAVE TO GO WRITE NOW. *cries a little*

Pretty Little Death Song, or 5 Ways Matt Farrell Died by troyswann - Don't worry, Matt Farrell doesn't die, really. But a couple of these wrecked me in the best ways. Sal has such an amazing eye for character details, ugh, I hate her so much.
That Guy by utopiantrunks - Holy snotballs, this story is good. It's the long epic story I was searching for, and then there it was, all locked up in the DH4 community. Who knew. It has sequels. IT HAS SEQUELS. And I haven't read those yet. *delirious with joy*
A Year in the Life by miss_pryss - if it happened, this is how it happened. SCORCHING HOT, omfg.
Save As by poisontaster - This story is in the middle of a group of connected stories by PT, but it's the gem of the bunch, and I highly recommend it.
All Things Being Equal, I'd Rather Be in Philadelphia by kansasinthewind - Very few writers really get inside the head of an aging, alcoholic, divorced, 99% straight, used-up cop the way this writer does, and this story PLEASED ME GREATLY. (Because to be honest, this pairing is a hard sell for me due to how I think it's an impossible sell for McClane, almost, and it was nice to see others be on that wavelength, too.)

Life, Mid-Crisis by lamardeuse - this entire series is fantastic.
Out In the Country, No One Can Hear You Scream by halfshellvenus - ahaha, McClane meets Farrell's family. IDK why this cracks me up so much, but it does. Domesticity, shyeah, right. :D
