Festivids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys, Festivids is live, and you should go watch ALL THE VIDS - but you should start with the five that were made for me. I have no idea how I am so lucky, because these five vids are all STUNNING. I mean, they are rock stars. And so are their vidders. Now I'm going to talk about them, and there's going to be capslock!

I received two The Tudors (HBO) vids, and they are as different and night and day, yet both are BRILLIANT.

No Church in the Wild, a portrait of Henry VIII and the madness of power, and the destruction it brings in its wake. This vid is EPIC. It weaves together all of the elements of dangerous politics during Henry's reign - his passion for and hatred of disposable wives, his conflicts with the church and advisors, all the blood and horror that encompasses the Tudor dynasty. The imagery, the symbolism, the precision. It's amazing. The song choice is stunning too.

And for an alternate and just as compelling perspective, Young and Beautiful, told from the perspective of Henry's wives. This vid captures the knife's edge dance of being a king's chosen woman in the Tudor court - the knowledge that the day will come when you will no longer hold the king's attention, and the exquisite price that is paid for being a queen. There's so much dark irony in this vid, and yet another perfect song choice. It's like a lament for womanhood.

I also received two amazing Carnivale vids, and both focus on Jonesy, who many of you know was played by Tim DeKay. JONESY IS MY FAVORITE, I LOVE HIM. Both of these vids expose his heart and soul, and they paint lovely portraits of him.

Find My Way is an unsettling portrait of a man who has lost direction, and is struggling to come up for air (IMAGERY OMG!) - the use of the show's symbolism and surrealism really enhances this character study.

The Boxer illustrates the heroism and compassion that made Jonesy so wonderful, as he moves toward finding purpose again.

AND FINALLY, ALL MY MARTIN AND LEWIS FEELS, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM:

What I Like About You is two minutes of laughing and touching and dancing and innuendo and it is PERFECT and if the vidder had thrown pink glitter all over it I COULD NOT LOVE IT MORE, this is my heart and it's an incredible and unexpected treat.

*flail!!!!!* Thank you so, so very much to the anon vidders who made these stunning vids. I am completely blown away. :D
