First let us discuss Steve and Danny, and how they went on a date in a bar, and Steve bought Danny beer and let him hold his hand. Uh, wrist. While Danny eyefucked him and ANALYZED HIS SMILES. Yes, I know Steve woke up in bed with a perfectly lovely woman who doesn't seem to mind his morning breath; what does that have to do with him exchanging special pet names with Danny, like Big Guy (two points for you if you know what instantaneous fandom flashback that gave me) and bitch. YES. BITCH. Ms. Pac-Man references, too. Tho not during the date, but that's okay.
Is it just me, or is it pretty much impossible not to stare at Steve's tattoos when they poke out from under his sleeves? Also, did you see the size of those steaks?? NOM.
Bonus Danny being all slappy and outraged and borderline violent with roofie!asshole, and Steve using an airhorn on him. AIRHORN! OMG, I laughed.
Also there was Chin, being all observant and hot. He does that a lot. It's a good vibe for him.
Kono! At first, I was like, NOT AGAIN WITH THE BAIT ROLE. At least she did recover a weapon for her own use. And threatened a dog. So that's something. The looks on Chin and Steve's faces were priceless. But then Danny sat in the box while Kono got to be an action hero for a change. EXCELLENT. (They do routinely forget to issue their stop and drop commands before they shoot people, tho. *handwave*)
Now let's talk about Masi Oka for a second. I'm really sorry; I'm about to be a wet blanket across all of geekdom, but...I find his character deeply annoying. He's coming across like a robot with OCD. He's not funny or quirky to me. So I hope either the character appears very little, or he grows some personality, because without a little something to make him likeable, I will be ffwding through his scenes.
Mary's discovery of the toolbox was so contrived. What is she doing there, again? Can she go back to LA? I don't like her. Sigh. But it's always nice to see Kyle Secor! Still handsome, as always.
In conclusion: go team. Including Jean Smart. I love her.
