Dean/Castiel rec
Oh, you guys. I have to rec you this. I have to. A lovely mix of humor, absurdity, lightheartedness, poignancy, sweetness, and boys. Sam and Dean are exactly as brotherly and connected as I love to see, and Castiel is... lost and found and lost again. And finds himself, somewhere in there. This is one of those special stories that manages to equally balance all the relationships, and has those unspoken layers that an unreliable narrator can subtly pack in, while letting us in on a charming Dean voice. This was a joy to read.
“Don’t wait up, princess,” he hollered over his shoulder. Sam, carefully propped in bed and surrounded by books, laptop, remote control, and snacks, waved distractedly after him.
“Don’t get herpes,” Sam yelled back.

And you can't beat the title!! I used to love Short Circuit.
