It's that time again. What time is that, you ask? Why, it's time for me to update my LJ of course!
I was done with school at the end of April, and I haven't really been up to much of anything since. I got decent grades...all As and Bs, but I am not confident that my GPA of 3.6 will be enough to keep my $5,000 scholarship from work. I'm fairly sure I will be able to keep half of it, but I really need all of it in order to avoid taking out student loans. Well, I really shouldn't be worrying about it just yet - I haven't even registered for Fall semester. I still have to apply to the college of education as well. I think I shall do that next week. I did end up taking the basic skills test for teachers and passed everything, so yay for that.
This week I am going to Cedar Point. It should be a lot of fun. I leave tomorrow and come back Saturday. Unfortunately I have to work Saturday as well. I have to work from 4-9, then come home and change quickly and go to Katie's going away party. She is going to spend another couple months over in Russia. She'll be home for about 3 weeks out of the entire summer before leaving for Notre Dame again, which is upsetting. I hardly ever get to talk to or even see her.
Well...I'm also struggling with the idea that my dad might have ALS - also known as Lou Gherig's Syndrome. My mom slipped and told me about it on Monday. My dad didn't want to say anything about the whole thing until he knew for sure that that was what he has. His doctor is only 80% sure, and she said she was basing this on his physical problems and an MRI he had - but he never had an MRI. He is going for that on Friday. I'm just hoping that the doctor had no clue what she was talking about...because I don't know what I'd do without my dad.
