She appears suddenly, right in the center of the room. A girl of about eleven or so, with dark braided pigtails and a blue gingham gown. Her eyes are squeezed shut and in her arms, she clutches a little black dog. More remarkable than any of this, though, is her shoes-- ruby red and fairly glowing with a distinctly magical air.

The little girl opens her eyes and her delighted, expectant expression instantly falls into one of disappointed bewilderment. She holds the dog a little closer.

"Toto? I don't think we're in Oz anymore..."

Typist: ...I couldn't resist. Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz, intercepted somewhere on her return trip from Oz to Kansas.
