*he is short, balding, heavyset, looking older than he should. he enters singing. it is a pleasant voice, if nothing special* "How do you do, Miss Pratt, how do you do? I'm just fine, Miss Pratt, how are you?" That's from Seventeen. A forgotten musical that opened in 1951 and ran 182 performances at the Broadhurst Theatre. It starred Kenneth Nelson - you know, the first Boy in The Fantasticks? The Fantasticks has been running for 37 years now. Longer than I have. It'll outlive us all.
Kenneth Nelson also starred in The Boys in the Band, a groundbreaking gay play and movie. But full of stereotypes.
*he pauses* Hi. I'm Buzz Hauser, walking stereotype. I make costumes for my friend's dance company, volunteer at an AIDS clinic in Chelsea, and know everything worth knowing about Broadway musicals. Go ahead, *to the tune of "Try Me" from She Loves Me* try me.
*clears his throat* I don't suppose anyone's seen a James Jeckyll around here? Not to be confused with his twin brother, Hyde.
Typist: Another one from the Love! Valour! Compassion! invasion. :)
