Here is a middlish sort of man, a book and notebook under his arm. His eyes are bright and warm, but slightly abstracted - he seems too interested in his surroundings to pay attention to his feet. Despite this, he seems relatively sure footed, and never does actually walk into any bushes.
“Hmm,” he says mildly, and apparently to himself, “I do believe this is a new garden.”
With this pronouncement, totally unconcerned, he drops onto a bench and begins to read in the open air, where the sunlight is untaxed - he no longer has to worry about it being taxed anywhere, of course, but old concerns are hard to let go.
