The Big Fat Finwëan Wedding

Apr 23, 2006 21:23

The big day has finally come; and anyone who ventures to Fëanor's gardens will find them decorated with long garlands of flowers - forget-me-nots, golden elanor and violets, by request of Armand and Chris - entwined with some of the small light-stones of Fëanor's making. Beneath the budding trees, long tables have been set, decorated with the same ( Read more... )

He arrives quite early, looking in admiration upon the wedding decorations. Everything looked perfect, which made him thankful that he wasn't more involved in the process; he would have screwed it up. The box of 'doves' he was carrying needed to be secured someplace until the appropriate time, but he couldn't find a place for them.

Once he spots Alistair, he walks over to him.
"Admiral. Hello." He eyes the crate interestedly. "What are you bringing there?"

"Hello! These are the doves that Armand may have mentioned to you. I was planning on releasing them after the ceremony, but I don't know where to put them. I hope you don't mind?" Alistair looks about, again, for somewhere that wouldn't interrupt the perfection of the setting.

"Ah yes, he asked me about them." He looks around. "Hm. I suppose under the table would be too dark for the poor beasts, hm?"

"Darkness would be, but I don't think they're real. Is there somewhere where a decorative cage would be welcomed?"

He frowns slightly. "A cage? Not a good symbol for a wedding, I'm afraid. - well, I suppose we can hide them behide the rhododendron yonder..."

He nods. "You're correct, but where else do birds go if you expect them to stay in one space?" He looks at the rhododendron. "So that's what that shrub is called. That looks fine."

"I didn't say it was wrong; I merely said it was a bad symbol..."
He raises an eyebrow. "Yes, that's what that scrub is called. Very well. Let's bring them there until they're needed, then."

He follows with the cage--wait, holding container--of birds, and sets them down next to the shrub. "Its flowers are very beautiful. It's nice to see it flowering so soon in the spring."

He looks at the shrub in passing. "It has only just begun. But yes, they are. I'm rather surprised it's flowering at all; I only planted it a week ago..."

"That's odd. But this entire place is odd..." He looks up. "I see other guests. I must take my place."

Fëanor smiles. "Yes, they're arriving at last... very well then. Would you like something to drink, before we start with the ceremonies?"

"No, I'm perfectly fine. I don't want to spill on myself."

With a chuckle, he replies, "Very well. You know what to do, then?"

Alistair laughs as he responds. "Yes, I've been practicing, just as you've told me to do. I won't let you down."

Still smiling, Fëanor turns to attend to the other guests. "Very well. We'll begin shortly, I think."
