Hey, there! 'm name's Jem Finch (short for Jeremy Atticus, the middle one after my father, but no one calls me that), from Maycomb County, Alabama. I live there with Atticus, Calpurnia, Scout... 's that you I see, Scout? Atticus is a lawyer, an' I wanna be one when I grow up, too, I think.
I like to play football, an' hear stories. 'specially adventures, or ghost stories. I broke my arm in th' fall, an' it sticks out a little funny, but I can still run an' catch an' beat Scout in a fight, so I don't mind. 'm twelve years old, but nearly thirteen. An' I know more 'bout Boo Radley 'n anyone, I reckon, even if it turns out most of them stories about him ain't true. Still makes for a real good story.
