Bored (but alive!), in hospital. Doing one of these meme (?) things to pass the time. Possibly more suitable for my personal journal, but hey, you guys might want to give it a try too.

10 Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't Meme

1. Had someone try to poison me. Twice.
2. Lived in a tent with running water and heating. (God bless Orr)
3. ( Read more... )

1. Sworn an oath against human emotion
2. Convinced others to swear the same oath
3. Broken an oath against human emotion
4. Been involved in the plotting of regicide
5. Been called a "she-wolf of the revolution" (I think that was it, anyway)
6. Stabbed myself with a poisoned dagger to save my country
7. Pretended to be a travelling actress to conceal my identity
8. Paid to be allowed to speak with prisoners I'd never met
9. Discovered that one of the aforementioned prisoners was my brother
10. Been sent on a mission to assasinate the man I loved

(Cheery, isn't it?)

So many people here have cheery answers.

Stabbed myself with a poisoned dagger to save my country

*Shakes head incredulously* And how did that work? Why did you have to die?

Oh, dear. This is rather complicated.

See, the revolutionary group I was involved with discovered that one of our members was the son of the Czar, and after one of our number assasinated the Czar, this boy took the throne. I was sent to kill him, but came to the realization that the complete change of government my friends were fighting for was too much too soon and would end in complete destruction, whereas the new Czar had plans for peaceful, gradual reform. However, I was to throw the dagger stained with his blood to my friends to signal that the job was done, or they'd assume I'd been caught and come in to rescue me, killing whoever got in their way-- meaning that if they didn't see someone's blood, Russia was doomed. No one else was around, and I couldn't have shed innocent blood anyway, so the only solution was to use my own, hopefully giving Alexis time enough to call back the guards for his own protection ( ... )

You're anther dead one then *shivers* I suppose that could be seen as noble. Dying for my country was never one of my strong points.

1. Led a revolution (and succeeded).
2. Ruled a small independent country following that revolution.
3. Been kidnapped by a group of brutal government guards.
4. Been thought to have been killed by a house that fell from the sky.
5. Taught myself a small amount of magic.
6. Been known as a witch, though I know only a very few spells.
7. Been responsible for turning a man into tin (though really, I can't be blamed).
8. Helped to convert a good number of ignorant Ozians to Unionism.
9. Owned a pair of magical shoes.
10. Used a wheelchair most of my life.

Been responsible for turning a man into tin (though really, I can't be blamed).

Great. Another nasty thing that could happen to me >_< I hadn't thought of that one.

No offense meant to you though.

*raises eyebrow slightly*

None taken.

And no worries, you're not in any danger so far as I know. I did it for economic reasons which applied only to my homeland long ago.

I don't think the spell would turn you into tin here, anyway. You'd have to be in Oz for that. Outside of Oz, it would probably just kill you.

Merlin, these all seem humiliating.

10 Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't Meme
  1. Been knocked out by a ten-foot-tall chess queen
  2. Belched slugs for an hour or so
  3. Crashed a flying car into the whomping willow
  4. Kept a murderer for a pet
  5. Had my teddy bear transformed into something I'd rather not mention
  6. Had a frog live on its own an entire school year without dying
  7. Been pysically attacked by thought (it comes in tentacles)
  8. Been bitten by a Norwegian Ridgeback
  9. Been left at the bottom of a lake overnight to sleep
  10. Been jumped on by a werewolf
Don't most tents have heat and running water?

Ours usually don't. Though I think I'm getting the idea - you're from another 'reality' so maybe yours do. We were lucky if our tents didn't have holes in them from bullets/shrapnel/Hupple's cat.

-8- Helped build a glass forge and then blown glass!

Do you actually try to risk your life? The word 'nearly' comes up quite a bit though, so I suppose the fact that you didn't die is worth something.

Oh, no, it just happens. Comes of living on a otherwise uninhabited island, I think. I certainly don't like it. It's quite scary. And I didn't even mention getting shot and going into shock, or the fever afterward that would have killed me in another few hours, or how incredibly lucky we were to land where we did because a little further along we would have drowned. Or the time we nearly missed the island and got lost at sea, or...

Typist: Honestly? I think it's 'cause he's the cute one.

Good to hear that. Personally I can't stand young people who try to throw their lives away. I don't understand it. And please stop talking about that stuff. It reminds me of how close to death we all are and makes me feel sick.

Goblins, and dwarfs, and... This place hurts my head. I'm supposed to be recovering in hospital. I bet I'll start having fish dreams again.
