Oh, how wonderful!
I like it a great deal. It's so vivid. That elegant curve of the neck - herons always have such tight curves in their necks, it seems like it shouldn't be possible - and that wonderful curve of the fish... You can see its barbels! And the feathers, the individual feathers, on the heron.

Snakes!
I saw the loveliest snake on Sunday. It was resting on a stone by the edge of the stream, and for I moment I didn't realize what it was. But then it moved, and looked right at me, and tasted the air to see what I was, and I suppose you could say we stared at each for a moment. We weren't far apart at all ( Read more... ) -

My typist made one of me - she says it's a shame that she couldn't really find any proper clothes for me, but I like it. Even though I really do dress properly most of the time, I really do. (Even if I do spend a lot of time in my shirtsleeves - *blush* I didn't just say that. Ignore me, please.)
