Introductions are in order

Hey! I'm Gordie LaChance, 16 years old and a writer. I live in Castle rock, Oregon with my mom and dad (my brother Denny died when I was twelve).

My friends are Chris, Vern, and Teddy. Chris is my best friend though. We are just so open with each other. I thik it's because of this jorney when we were twelve.
Chris, Teddy, Vern, and I went to find the body of a missing kid from our town. He had been hit by the train. But when we got there...I kept thinking about my brother...I never cried at his funeral, but with Chris there...I did cried, mourning the loss of one of the two people who understood me at all. Chris is of course, the other person in question. See, the night before, he'd cried about how he wanted to get to a place where no one knew him or his family (alocholic dad, mom long gone, a nasty bunch of siblings) and I realized he didn't want that. He's smart...really smart...brilliant even, but he'd never agree with that. He thinks his genes determine everything about him, but I know his family, he's not like them at all. He's brave (unlike his brother) and his only bad habit is stealing smokes (and a gun...once). But that night also prompted me to realize something else about Chris I'd never known and tried to disbelieve for the longest time.

I'm in love with him.

TN: I'm only changing that one little thing about him. Oh, he's from "The Body" by Stephen King, by the way. Made into the movie, "Stand By Me" *points to icon*
