this will all end in tears i know it

Jaime is furious, and his sister is an idiot, but all things considered, he'd rather have it this way than their roles reversed. Which is, as he feels the weight of his golden hand, the first time that's been the truth in a while. Best not to think on that, though. Moving onto more pressing matters ( Read more... )

Niko is sitting around, smiling a bit more than he should. He's having a quite time, and can be easily disturbed.

He still has pointy things on him, but they aren't particularly visible.

This one's met Robb, but hasn't spent much time with him.

Jaime's Blond-Dar (yes that is a word) is tingling.

Mayhaps this one knows what in the seven buggering hells is going on. He seems to be, ah, at peace with things, as it were. Faintly, Jaime hopes this one isn't a sparrow, or worse, a figment of his imagination. Or maybe he's got those two backwards.

Whatever.

"Excuse me, mayhaps you would be able to point me in the direction of..." Riverrun? Kingslanding? Riverrun? Kingslanding... "Casterly Rock?"

I KEEP FORGETTING TO RESPOND TO THE OOC NOTES AUGH SORRY. also hahaha aw, have at /o/

Niko looks up from his meditation, and examines the new arrival - he looks like a knight, at any rate.

"I couldn't give you any helpful directions if I wanted to," Niko replies, almost absently. "But you're welcome to try. This place is like a fishbowl. You always end up back here."

Jaime wonders what a fishbowl is. Mentally, he conjurers the image-- a bowl made out of... fish?

Best not to think on that overlong.

"And you would, of course, not know how one could escape this bowl of fish, hm?" Judging by his luck so far, today.

"Not that I know of," he says with a dry chuckle. "Hence the fish bowl analogy."

A pause, and since he and Cal have long since stopped bothering with the aliases, he introduces himself.

"Niko Leandros, by the way. From 21st Century New York." He eyes him, and hazards a guess. "Beleriand?"

Though he imagined Beren to be a bit less cocky.

I equally fail at OOC tags, so sorry about that. Also, my timezone is not my friend, so I'm sorry if I lag at times.

Jaime stops himself from wondering what a fishbowl is. This is all getting rather frustrating.

21st century New York means nothing to Jaime, but he tries to respond in kind. "Ser Jaime Lannister, from, ah, Casterly Rock? In the reign of good King Tommen Baratheon, first of his name. The seven kingdoms, not... Beleriand?"

fff no problem. And... also no problem XD

He could just ask. Aquariums aren't something that strikes Niko as modern.

"Ah, well then." A beat. "Did you say Lannister?" Niko's demeanor does not change in the slightest. His relationship - whatever it is - with Robb is tainted with the fact that 1) he suspects Robb of having a crush on Caliban's girlfriend and 2) Robb made clear his intention to kill Cal, Way Back When.

Thus, Niko reacts little to the name, but sees no reason not to indicate that he is familiar with it.

Awesomeness. By the way, I have been enjoying Jaime quite a bit in all these subthreads, so far. Ah, and I created his Wiki Stub, whenever you feel like filling it out.

But asking implies lack of mastery of the situation, which, while it would be apt for Jaime's current situation, is nothing he's going to admit in a hurry, if ever.

Best focus on something he does know. "Lannister, yes." To emphasize, he runs his good hand through his Lannister-blond hair, faking an absent-minded gesture-- if it were truly absent-minded, he'd have used his right.

oooh thankee kindly. And I will look into that when I can >>;

"Interesting," Niko replies, absently. "The name rings a bell, but I can't quite remember from where," he adds with almost a frown.

He remembers - the kid was hacking at the empty air and cursing the Lannisters to all known and unknown gods. It was after a particularly colorful nightmare.

No prob. Actually, that removes pressure, since the only emergency (per modly powers) is to create the stub, which is now done. ^__^

"And that's even more interesting." He seems almost spiteful, and self-amused at that. No one, where he's from, doesn't know of the Lannisters.

Oooh, I see >> well, it's been poked at regardless \o/

"Is it?" Niko tilts his head to the side. "I suppose that's because someone here mentionned it," he says with a nonchalant shrug.

In appearance.

I saw! Ist wunderbar, as Brecht would say! <3

Jaime has fought his share of wars and battles and knows how to read another, be they an enemy or a friend. And if Jaime were more at his wits, at this moment, he'd be more suspicious of Niko.

But he isn't, so he's not, and he suspects little if anything at all. "The Lannister fame in action, I supose." His words are resigned, somewhat. "Is Leandros a house I should be similarly aware of?"

"Probably not." Considering my mother's glittery background. "But maybe if I tell you that I am of Roma descent, it will mean something to you?" He shrugs. "Doesn't matter. What fame do you claim? I have none to my record."

Well. Unless you're an Auphe, which thankfully, you are not.

Roma descent means nothing to Jaime. But he's regained enough of his composure at this point that he nods, thoughtful, as if it was. In the meanwhile, he contemplates telling Niko the origin of his epiphet-- never having had to explain it before, he doesn't know how or why he should start, if he even should.

And then it finally occurs to Jaime that no one here knows of his Kingslaying, unless he chooses to tell them.

An odd smile passes over his features, equal parts confused and happy. "I have as much fame as anyone else, ser; it's my house that stands of note." He decides he won't tell this one, only because there's no reason for him to know-- it's not lying, then, is it? Jaime isn't sure, but he certainly doesn't feel like explaining Aerys to this stranger.

Jaime is lucky, because in the long list of names Robb cursed that day, Jaime's was only one of many, and his first name didn't stick. "I see," Niko replies. "There are several people in that situation, here, but most aren't from Castlery Rock."

Which admittedly, Niko has never heard of, as Robb only ever spoke to him of Westeros. He figures this might be a coincidence.

Jaime could probably use some luck right now, all things considered.

"Ah. Rich houses are easier to come by than deserving members within, I suppose." To say nothing of what this means in reference to Jaime, of course.
