Introducing...

Fair Luthien walked slowly through a meadow. The sky was blue and the wind smelled of summer. The tall grass reached her knees, although she didn't mind. She made her way through the meadow, having no idea where or why she was walking the way she was.

There was a small copse of trees at the edge of the meadow, and she started for it, wanting to ( Read more... )

And here come her grandsons, all magically grown up thanks to Gabrielle's cookies. They don't know her, but -- it's hard for them not to make direct associations.

Here are some boys, who are smiling and laughing, chasing each other happily. Teenaged, blond, Sindarin boys.

Enjoy.

Luthien spotted the boys, and even from a distance could pick out the similarities between them. She even noticed a bit of herself in them. This she felt slightly odd. She tried to remember, but her memory seemed foggy. She felt as if she knew these boys though, so she made her way towards them slowly.

The boys have paused in their chattering, and smile at each other, then at the lady, both of them bowing in the fashion of Doriath.

"So it is true," one of them gasps.

She looked at the boys, noticing a few features that looked like her own features. She said nothing though, and wondered if they were somehow distantly related.

Serenely sitting by the lake is a possibly familiar figure. Galadriel is relaxing and reading the clouds, or perhaps only day dreaming. She has been thinking much of Valinor lately.

Curtosy of Daeron who has been giving her and her relatives quite a bit of trouble lately.

Luthien recognized Gladriel almost instantly, and made her way towards her. "Lady Gladriel, I may presume?" She asked hestiantly, coming within a few feet from Gladriel and stopping.

She turns, slowly, and smiles at Luthien very gently.

"--- Eru. For all the surprises this place holds, there are yet more to come this day. My friend's child, my cousin. My heart warms to see you."

She stands and comes closer, slow as can be expected of her, and offers her hands, her eyes beaming with quiet joy.

Luthien took the offered hands, eyes too taking on one of quiet joy. "My heart warms to see you too, cousin." She said happily, looking into Gladriel's eyes with joy as well.

Standing on the porch is a tall, blond Noldorin looking out toward the woods. He almost doubletakes when he sees here there, recognizing her immediately from the time he'd spent in Menegroth but he hadn't expected to see her. She probably hadn't expected to see her, either. Finrod Felagund raises a hand in greeting as he starts toward her. "Hello, cousin."

"Finrod. It is nice to see a recognizable face within this strange place." She said happily, walking up to where Finrod stood.

He nods and smiles, though there is a moment of pain in his eyes as he recalls some of his more painful memories. "There are more recognizable faces than you might expect," he says, knowing that not all will be welcome.

"There are others?" She asked, curious now. "Might Beren be here?"

Another Noldorin woman will be found on the porch, caressing her belly tenderly, speaking words to it, singing in Quenya peacefully.

We have no idea how Aredhel will react to Luthien. Or, to be more precise, to her husband's last fad. This should prove interesting at the very least.

Luthien continued to look at the strange architecture of the mansion, until she noticed Aredhel on the porch. However, she did not recognize her, although as she wanted to know where she was, she made her way towards the lady.

The song is interrupted, and she looks up, slowly. Aredhel is a gentle and noble creature, really, and even more so for her pregnancy. "Good afternoon," she says, in flawless Sindarin, slightly accented for her stay in Nan Elmoth.

"You are new come." It's not really a question - the Eldar stick so close together, that new comers are quickly identified.

"Good afternoon, Lady." Luthien replied, noting from the way she looked that she surely had to be of nobility of some sort.

"Yes, I am new come. Although, I know not where I am."

--well. Someone you haven't seen in quite a while, back from being significantly dead for the first time in six millenia, comes strolling out of the woods singing something sad, lilting, heartbreakingly mournful. In Sindarin, of course.

However, this is one person he doesn't even need to do more than glimpse to recognize, and for perhaps the first time ever, Daeron's voice breaks and falters.

OH ERU. GOD. BUDDHA CHRIST. EVERY DEITY EVER.

"--Princess?"

She tore her eyes away from the strange architecture of the mansion as she heard the voice of someone she instantly recognized. "..Daeron?" She said hesitantly, although she was sure that it was him.

Daeron is staring at her in half wonder, half alarm, half total surprise. But it doesn't take him too long to react, expression rapidly becoming one of supplication. "Please - forgive me."

"Daeron, nothing needs be forgiven." She said calmly. She had quite hoped that once she was married he would have given up, but alas that seemed not to be so.
