He rides in on a horse that looks like it's seen better days, in worn and bloody gear, and the first words out of his mouth are "Jesus be damned." Turns out these words are addressed to the horse, because he follows it up by leaning along her neck and adding, "Of all the places to bring me, you Satan-bred animal. Where the hell is it?"

"Uncle." He smiles a bit, though not overly familiar. "Well met." You know, unless that's not okay.

"Uncle? What?"

"...it's Lovel. Gawain's son?" He's a bit wary.

"...Aren't you two years old?"

[lovingknight]

"Not the last time I checked." A tentative smile. "Not for the last 16 years."

"Oh. Well--yeah, you've gotten bigger."

[lovingknight]

"I'm told it's a hazard of age. Have you just come?"

[agravaiting]

"That's right."

[lovingknight]

"Ah. It's like home, only more boring."

[agravaiting]

He snorts. "That sounds wonderful. What d'you do not to go mad?"

[lovingknight]

"I've not been here long yet. There's always Kay to avoid, and there are stables. Some hunting. But madness may set in soon enough."

[agravaiting]

"Wonderful, Kay. --Is it a good stables? Have they got a mews?"

[lovingknight]

"No, frustratingly not. The stables are well kept, but on the small side." He snorts. "And Kay has put himself in charge of food. He's even more fun without His Majesty here to keep him in check."

[agravaiting]

"Well, that's worthless, then, isn't it?" Agravain says bluntly. "Anyway, he can't be in charge of every single piece of food in the world, can he? I don't see any reason to mind him when he can't catch you."

[lovingknight]

Being Gawain's son, this hadn't immediately occurred to him. "...that's true."

"Of course it's true." Wait, this is what Lovel decided to hero-worship him for? His magical super-asshole powers?
