Outside the mansion, a large brown and white hawk perches on a tree branch, looking around with mad eyes, eyes that looked like a flame burned orange behind them. This wasn't where he meant to land, he's certain, but he can't sort out just where he is. Even trying to is difficult. He doesn't like some of the presences that he's sure lurk in the ( Read more... )

A woman flying, now that's curious. She's not a god, either. He takes wing as well, rising well above the trees for safety in the darkness. His eyes glint with a faint orange light of their own in the darkness.

She'll notice the hawk as well, and feel the sentience above the forest of murmurs. She'll pull herself to a halt, levitating above the trees, to look at him, curiously.

The hawk lands at the top of a tall tree, looking back at her with his mad eyes.

That's a bit unsettling, actually. Her mind is atune - not intruding, but definitely seeking to catch what is floating around - this is just too strange.

Most of what's floating there is broken and disjointed, long past and present confused. More recent events are clearer though, he almost broke through but slid back.

She's not sure what to think - maybe this is what a bird brain is like, after all. But... it is strange.

"Hello?"

Yes, she's talking to a bird. You never know.

Huh.

"Do you understand me?" Head tilt - definitely alien - vampiric, at any rate.

An affirmative headbob, watching her. Still not actually using words.

"Why do you follow me?"

A hawklike cry, wings fluttering. Because she's flying, and not a god, and that's unusual.

Eyebrows. "Because of my flight?"

He gives her an affirmative headbob as he folds his wings neatly back.

She levitates slowly towards him.

"It intrigues you." A considering look. "You are no ordinary hawk."

Most birds really don't give a damn what she does.

A few moments after she says that he changes, balancing precariously on a branch that he can likely only sit on as he is because of what he is. He doesn't say anything, his human appearance should be response enough.
