There are ways that one goes wooing, on the plains of Kalevala--in a sledge drawn by fine horses, dressed in clothes studded with bright and shining metals; with a priceless gift for the parents of the intended. One goes prepared to demonstrate wealth, strength, and valor, and only after asking the favor of the gods ( Read more... )

Well here's a wistful Pandora for you, Ilmarinen. We don't know how much of a mate a vampire can be, but she is in need of moving on from her pathetic attraction to Marius.

She won't be around till sundown, though, should you wish to speak with her. Of course, she won't be around until after sundown, and likely sitting about, calmly reading on a bench, without needing any light.

Ilmarinen is wary after sundown, especially after he met Kavi Chernevog (perhaps one of Hiisi's goblins, perhaps only a disquieting boy, but he takes no chances), but perhaps by that point he is just preparing to go home. He will bow to her from the box of his cart.

Oh dear. She's not met Kavi, but the typists agree that they would not get along, if that is any reassurance.

As she felt his presence a long way off, she looks up, and smiles.

"Good eve," she says, polite and friendly.

"Good eve, lady--it's a dark one. Should you not be going inside?" He has a lamp that he has made, which shines a little like the silver sun, and he holds it up to see her more clearly by its light.

There's also a Phedre hanging about - reading during a moment of peace, while Caliban sleeps. She's not persay looking for a mate, and has already a boyfriend, but maybe Ilmarinen would enjoy a conversation with her, if anything.

She's very beautiful, and catches his eye--he waves to her with a broad smile, bowing when she looks up.

She stands, curtsies. Friendly is good - Phedre likes friendly people, and this friendly man is good looking, which always helps.

"Good day," she offers with a smile. "Coming to trade with the Mansion folk, have you?" She eyes the cart.

He laughs, looking back at the plough. "Trade, perhaps, but if I'm honest, I hope this might be a bridegift."
