AUMplot (Happy April First!)

Anyone who knows Hagbard Celine knows that when he offers you something to drink (or otherwise absorb into your body), you're in for a trip. When he offers you nine somethings to drink, you're going to have either a very good or a very bad day. It's lucky for Hagbard's funny bone that people here don't really know him that well yet.

Hagbard (with help from Lynette (on the set-up only, not the mixing) whose unquestioning helpfulness and complete lack of any need to be tricked has him slightly miffed) has set up nine punch bowls, with punch of various colors in each one, in the front room of the mansion. But this isn't a simple punch-party; his old associate Simon Moon had a special "product" called AUM, and Hagbard has managed to replicate it here in the mansion; Simon preferred tomato juice, but Hagbard's fond of variety, and tomato juice only has one flavor, tomato. This has nine flavors, which he has labeled by what he thinks they'll be using those fancy little foldable name-cards that you get for dinner parties; he makes no guarantee about the accuracy or tastiness of the flavors. AUM only had one effect, but through the IJW magic of the mansion, Hagbard has managed to create 9 distinct effects.

Purple, labeled Grape, will flip the drinker's sexuality to something that s/he never expected it to be; not necessarily something it never would've been, just something they wouldn't have expected.

Red, labeled Cherry, will reduce the drinker's inhibitions, both of the lustful and violent varieties.

Orange, labeled Orange, will make the drinker infinitely curious about things they don't know. Expect to spend a lot of time either in the library, or asking "why?"

Green, labeled Lime, will drive the drinker to their most despised political, philosophical, or religious position. For example, a Utilitarian would probably become a Libertarian or Objectivist, and a staunch Christian would probably become a Satanist, Pagan, or even Atheist. Hagbard likes this one a lot.

Yellow, labeled Lemon, will cause in the drinker much introspection, which solely focuses on an overblown reading of one's own flaws, which the drinker will then enumerate quite loudly. It really just leads to much boisterous despair.

Blue, labeled Raspberry, will imbue the drinker with delusions of grandeur, and maybe a few generalized delusions. Hagbard wanted to build some windmills for this one, but he couldn't find the time.

He made two Brown flavors. The first is labeled Chocolate, but it tastes more like cola. It invokes in the drinker feelings of ecstasy and hyperactivity, with sexy results.

The second brown is simply labeled Brown, with the addition of Do Not Take The Brown Punch. It is mixed with a bad batch of AUM, and will lead to a very bad trip. Very unpleasant. The imbiber will become paranoid, incoherent, have bad hallucinations, and possibly become violent. Hagbard had to debate with himself whether or not to put that one out.

The final bowl is filled with a nearly clear punch, and is labeled Water. It will open the drinker's mind to new ideas and experiences; it is very nearly Simon Moon's AUM.

Cups are on the table, ladles are in the bowls, Hagbard's sitting in an armchair with a cup of the Cherry that he's not yet drinking. In Hagbard's world, the effects of AUM are as permanent as Brainwashing; here in the Mansion, it could last for any amount of time, thanks to the usual stuff.
