So Here We Are

Dec 14, 2007 00:06

Over the years, Avaric has grown used to odd things happening around him; however, this might be one of his odder experiences.  He's never seen this place before, has no idea where it is, in fact, but he simply shrugs as he fixes the collar of his jacket.  It only takes a few moments for him to determine that there's nothing to be done about it ( ( Read more... )

Here's Tibbett, then, passing by and fairly pouncing the new arrival. What can we say, he's enthusiastic.

"Avaric, duck! Took you long enough!"

There's hardly a second between Avaric's frown and grin.

"What, have you been partying without me?"

Tibbett grins and kisses his cheek, looking amused.

"Oh, only with Crope, dazzylicious one. But now you're here, it'll be like old times!"

"Poor thing, you are." He reciprocates the kiss on the cheek. "Is it just the two of you here?"

Here's Elphaba with, prepare to be shocked, an infant in her arms. And a toddler clutching her skirts. She blinks at him for a moment. "...Avaric?" The shock is a little too much for her to be annoyed. Right now. Give her a gew minutes.

"... Elphaba?"

Avaric looks up, almost hoping it isn't her. But it is. And there are kids. He is as shocked as she is.

"Who did you steal the kids from?" But not shocked enough to still be himself.

"They're mine," she says with a scowl. "What are you doing here?" And, it might be noted, the toddler clutching her skirts is about as adorable as it's possible to get.

Typist: No, seriously. Think Boo from Monsters, Inc. Also, you know that gew=few. I was tired >.

"I wish I knew," he replies, watching her warily. "... Did you happen to be wearing multiple bags on your head at the time? Or is there a constant lights out rule?"

It isn't that Avaric doesn't think Elphaba is capable of having intimate relationships, thus conceiving children, it's just that he can't quite grasp who would really want to.

Look, here's a brown-haired, glasses-wearing 27-year-old (just had a birthday) man with a 10-month-old girl on his hip. The little one is peering solemnly at the world in a way that is very similar to the way a certain green baby in Oz used to once upon a time.

Mark smiles at the new-comer. "Hey there. I don't think I've seen you around before."

"You wouldn't have. I've just gotten here." Avaric tilts his head and gazes at the man and baby. "Who are you?"

"Oh! Sorry." Mark shifts Bit on his hip a little and offers his hand. "Mark Thropp-Cohen. And this is Bit. Um, Elizabeth, really, but we call her Little Bit."

He kisses the little girl's cheek. She just peers solemnly at Avaric. Rather like she's pondering biting his hand if he gets too close.

Thropp. The name is not unknown to Avaric. He quirks an eyebrow and shakes Mark's hand.

"Avaric."
