Well, for Remus, the name 'Bella' is a very unpleasant auto-association with the person who killed his wife. So if he's a little cold, that's why. "She's probably not here," he says, softly.

Oh God, not more of them. How many wolves were there in this place? Edward curled his lip a little and stepped back, "I'm noticing that, yes. ... do you know her?"

"That depends on what her name is," very drily. "I do know a Bella." He can't help but bristle a bit at the lipcurl. "Is something wrong?"

"Isabella -- I don't think you know her, no." Edward remained tense, on edge, ready to pounce, "Nothing wrong, no."

"I don't, no." And he settles a bit, at least this person isn't a friend of Bellatrix'. "You're certain?"

"I'm just -- a little hungry, that's all." That was part of it, anyway. "But thank you for your concern."
