An unexpected turn of events.
Edward knew that logically, he had no reason to be nervous. However, the more time he spent with Bella, the more human he tended to feel; and that was why, for the first time in nine decades, he could feel the beginnings of butterflies in his stomach.
As he stepped onto Charlie Swan's porch, he turned to reassure Bella once more, only to find that Bella was no longer there. Edward though perhaps she'd gotten cold feet and slipped off, but when he stepped off the porch to look for her, he realized that this wasn't the right porch. It wasn't Charlie's house. It wasn't Forks and might not even be the continental United States.
"Bella?" he called, frowning deeply at this sudden change of location. Wherever he was, Bella wasn't with him, and that always led to trouble. "Bella, where did you go?"
Typist: VAMPIRES? IN MY COMMUNITY? IT'S MORE LIKELY THAN YOU'D THINK!
