The library was certainly not the first room most people would expect to find Lestat de Lioncourt, but many things had changed.
However, it would alleviate some surprise to learn that he was flipping through Shakespeare, King Lear. He sat sideways in the chair, hardly proper, but that didn't concern him at the moment. The chair was large enough to accommodate him, and his feet crossed where they propped on the opposite armrest. The pages he turned weren't flipping at a fantastic speed -- at least, not as fast as they could -- but he felt no impatience. He read the lines easily enough, then did so again for good measure, and then read them a third time...
Despite the slight frown and knitted eyebrows, Lestat wasn't necessarily in a bad mood and wouldn't at all mind a good conversation.
