[re-introducing Harry Potter]

Aug 20, 2007 21:24

It's a cold, damp evening at the Mansion, not long after sunset. It was raining earlier, and there's a heavy fog covering the grounds, which, in addition to making the place quite a bit wetter than usual, gives everything a rather mysterious, eerie look, even more than usual ( Read more... )

Have a Lucivar, who sees the ominous looking shape and is immediately on his guard. He moves closer, silently, until he realizes that it is, in fact, a rather ordinary looking boy. "That depends on who you're looking for," he says in a very mild voice, still wary.

"Oh--er--anyone, I guess," says Harry, a little startled. He has his wand out but at his side - ready to fire off a spell at any moment, but not overtly threatening. Yet. "I was out flying, playing Qudiditch with some of my friends, but this storm came up and I got swept off-course, and I don't know where I landed..."

Lucivar notes the wand and puts up a shield of his own, rustling his wings. "Playing what?"

"Quidditch," Harry repeats. "You know, the one and only wizarding sport, best game in the world, really; sort of like football on broomsticks? Quaffles, Snitch, Bludgers, all that?"

Lucivar makes a little snorting noise. "No. Never heard of anything like it." It sounds a little mad, actually, but he doesn't mention that.

"Oh," says Harry, nonplussed. "Well, it's a great game, anyway. My point, though, was that it's done on broomsticks, so I got blown off when the wind came up, and I sort of...crashed..." He's a bit embarrassed by this, as he prides himself on his talent for flying. "...and I don't know how to get home."

His mouth twists in a wry smile. "Good luck with that. As far as I can tell, no one's here by choice, no one knows where here is, and no one has been able to get back." He sounds a little annoyed, now, and will open and close his wings a couple times, muttering to himself.

Harry rubs his forehead, frustrated. "Right. Well. I don't plan to spend the rest of my life here, thanks."

Lucivar grimaces. "From what I've heard, you might not have much of a choice," he mutters.

Harry shrugs. "I won't argue," he says flatly, "but I've got family and friends back home that I'm not willing to never see again. Trust me, I'll find a way, somehow."

Lucivar gives a skeptical little smile. He asked Jaenelle, and she hasn't found a way, and as far as he's concerned if Jaenelle can't find a way out, no one can. He tilts his head and changes the subject. "Who are you, anyway?"

"I'm Harry Potter," answers Harry. "I'm from ...er, England," he adds, as he does appear to be quite a long way from home.

He is. Lucivar accepts that as another oddity and looks at the broomstick. "Why are you dragging that around?"

"Cause it's my broomstick," says Harry uncertainly, with the tone of 'What kind of a question is that?'

That's somewhat baffling, but his hackles go up at the tone. "Pardon me if I don't understand why someone who is clearly injured would want to carry a household cleaning device."

Harry blinks, completely confused -- then he laughs. "It's not for cleaning! It's for flying. I was flying on it when I crashed here, that's why I'm injured."
