The human child (Intro)

A little boy, no more than eleven or so, enters the mansion. He is dressed like a proper English schoolboy from the turn of the century, in short trousers and long stockings, with a cap on his head. He looks vaguely lost but it doesn't seem to worry him very much. There is something faintly otherworldly about him and his blue-grey eyes seem to see

*when Chris gets up, he may notice a boy dressed in leaves hovering over his head* What are you doing?

"I'm looking for a fairy." And because Chris just happens to be from the year that Peter's book was published gets wide eyes. "You're Peter Pan!"

[wonderfulboy]

*beams* Uh-huh!

[christmas_child]

"Oh, wow! Are any of the others here? Like Tinkerbell, or Nibs, or Slightly?"

[wonderfulboy]

Tink and my mother are here! Who are Nibs and Slightly? *would possibly remember them if they showed up*

[christmas_child]

"They're Lost Boys. Shouldn't you know that?"

[wonderfulboy]

*a dismissive wave* There are so many Lost Boys, and they're always getting killed or something.

[christmas_child]

Chris takes a moment to think that over. "What is this place?"

[wonderfulboy]

It's mine!

[christmas_child]

"Is it Neverland?"

[wonderfulboy]

'Course not! It's a house.

[christmas_child]

"I can see that. Why are we here? I was at home just a little while ago."

[wonderfulboy]

*cheerfully* Maybe you're dead.

[christmas_child]

He pokes himself. "I don't think so." Another poke. "Can you teach me how to fly?"

[wonderfulboy]

If you like. *sprinkles fairy dust over him* Just think happy thoughts, and don't kick too much!

Chris nods and thinks of all the wonderful things he's seen and heard. He keeps his eyes squeezed shut and doesn't seem to notice when he's bobbing near the ceiling.
