Tom walked. His memory was strange and details seemed to come and go. But it was certain that Richard was dead and he was...he had been...best not to think about it. But the mansion seemed to be swallowing him alive. All those people. All those eyes. All looking at him. So he left. He went to the woods and he had been walking for a good

Armand is walking, mostly looking for flowers to take back to Christopher, when he hears the shouting and runs up. "Monsieur, what is the trouble?" he calls, somewhat breathlessly.

Backing away a little. "Nothing."

Armand spreads his empty hands (the icon lies!) trying to show he means no harm. "Are you certain, monsieur? I would not hurt you."

But remembering his ill-fated conversation with Pansy, Armand is poised to flee himself.

Tom remembers that Armand had something to do with the tree. And the tree is bad. The tree is what got him here. "I'm not certain of anything."

Keeping his voice low and soft, Armand continues, "I will not hurt you, M. Jones. We did talk out here several days ago. Don't you recall?"

He looks at him suspisciously. "You were at the tree, I remember that."

"Did I say I wasn't? I was sitting right here." He points to the ground at the base of the tree. "I was trying to take some notes. Is there something wrong? Please tell me, M. Jones. Perhaps I can help."

"I don't know. I don't need help."

And since that is just want Pansy said, Armand backs off, still looking worried and anxious. "My apologies..."

Tom goes back to the way he was before, slumped against the trunk and attempting to hold himself together.

From a little ways off, Armand watches worriedly but doesn't approach again.
