*Curio is wandering the woods to find game trails when he hears the shouts--and when he hears what sounds like an altercation, he rushes to help break it up--

Tom whirled around, still looking slightly crazed. "Curio...You are Curio?" He needed to remind himself more than anything else.

*gently--advancing only slowly, as though Tom were a wild-eyed horse* I am, my friend--if friend thou thinkest me.

Tom backed away. "I'm not certain what to think."

*and here's Melchi, perched in said tree and poking his head out of it to blink at Tom* ....What'd the tree ever do to you, Herr Jones?

"I...I..." He wasn't expecting a person to be in the tree. "I don't remember."

Melchi scrambles out of the tree -- he likes it up there, trees have always been a nice place to think. "Oh, alright then. Would you like to join me?"

"I don't think I can." He holds up his bandaged arm.

Armand is walking, mostly looking for flowers to take back to Christopher, when he hears the shouting and runs up. "Monsieur, what is the trouble?" he calls, somewhat breathlessly.

Backing away a little. "Nothing."

Armand spreads his empty hands (the icon lies!) trying to show he means no harm. "Are you certain, monsieur? I would not hurt you."

But remembering his ill-fated conversation with Pansy, Armand is poised to flee himself.

Tom remembers that Armand had something to do with the tree. And the tree is bad. The tree is what got him here. "I'm not certain of anything."

The attack on the tree caught Sweeney's attention (he was rather fond of trees) but he didn't recognize the attacker until he got closer.

"Whoa, Tom. What gives, man?"

He just whirled around and looked at Sweeney, breathing heavy and looking slightly mad.

Okay, madness Sweeney can deal with, though he didn't expect it on Tom Jones.

"You alright?" he asked, hooking his thumbs on his pockets and keeping his distance.

"It's all...it's all muddled. Richard's gone and I can't think."

[pretty_weena]

Weena, who's been following him rather ever since, although she's frightened and upset that he doesn't want her, comes close after he stops shouting and takes a little handful of his trousers, looking up at him.

He jumps a little at the contact and tries to move away. "Hello."

[pretty_weena]

This she lets him do, looking at him sorrowfully, and then, after a pause, she offers him a flower from the pocket of her dress. It's a slightly crumpled hyacinth.

He takes it and holds it gently. "Thank you."
