It's a lovely day, work on the cottage is going well, and Mordred has nothing better to do at the moment than wander out to the Mansion, check on Arthur's rosebushes, and bother people.

If you feel like being bothered, by all means get in his way.

"They're still just roses, brother," he grumbles - and what's an Agravain, with fading bruises and his hunting gear, doing out here by the mansion? (Probably better not to ask.) "Haven't turned into anything more interesting lately."

"Yeah, well, as long as they don't turn into dead rosebushes." Mordred slants a look at him. "And what are you up to?"

"Be a bit more interesting, maybe." He stares balefully at the roses. "Hunting. Maybe. Looking for someone, at least--"

"Just someone," shortly. "To go hunting with."

"I see. All the rage, lately."

"Percival can grow his damn vegetables, but the rest of us like a little meat in our diets, thank you. 'Sides, it's more fun than sitting 'round reading all the time."

"Horrible fate. Just don't piss off the gods, all right?"

"Who, me?" He looks genuinely surprised. "Only things I ever manage to piss off are mere humans. What should some god care if I go hunting or not?"

"Don't ask me, but sometimes they do." Mordred shrugs. "Have fun."

He frowns, considering. "It probably wouldn't be safe to anger a god," slowly.

"Probably not," Mordred agrees, with admirable restraint. "I think as long as you don't sneak up on them in the shower you're okay, though."

Agravain shoots his brother a slightly quizzical, slightly suspicious look (rather 'I know you're mocking me somehow, but I haven't worked it out yet -- but as soon as I do...'). "...Right."
