Vera, for her part, is almost entirely unconscious, curled around the blade in her belly. There's a very weak noise from somewhere in the back of her throat, but it's a sound of pain, not really a response.

"Miss Morgan, how long ago did you find them?" He moves to the very dead man, doing a cursory examination of the corpse.

Setting to work and ignoring everyone else (unless anyone else is a doctor), he uses the knife to cut her shirt away from the wounds, pushing the scraps aside. Quickly looking over the wounds again, he stands and starts filling a large bowl with warm water, grabbing a kitchen rag to use as a cloth. "I need someone to help hold her down."

Vera chokes a little, which would probably be her reaction even in the best of health -- she isn't one for strong alcohol -- and swallows, though not without a muffled noise of protest.

"That will slow the bleeding, at least." He frowned, eyeing the dagger in her abdomen with worry. "I don't know what to do about the dagger. Taking it out might make the bleeding worse--especially if it's nicked her intestine."
