A slight dark-haired young man opens the front door of the mansion. He closes it behind him and takes a few steps forward, hand reaching out to touch a wall that isn't there. Thinking that he's just taken a wrong step, he moves backward to the door, expecting to feel something familiar, but the pattern is different, even the grain of the wood is

Armand watches the young man get a short tour and then be glomped by the Firecat, who he knows at least from the 'cat's first visit. Mostly he smiles. Eventually he clears his throat so as not to be too much of a surprise, and says, "Bonjour, monsieur."

The throat clearing directed Karal's attention to Armand "Hello" he replies with a smile, eyes looking in his direction but not seeing anything.

"You seem settled in a bit already." He seems hesitant in his speech. Knowing that Karal can't see his expressions, Armand is a bit nervous about sending the wrong message with his toe. "Are you that person that Altra has been going on about for months?"

"I'm getting there" he responds pleasantly "Four months! Altra, you didn't tell me it was that long" he looks down at the firecat as he says that.

It hasn't been that long this time... Yes, he sounds a bit grumpy at being called on his little evasion. This is the elf king's youngest. He's not an elf. Of course, that much should be obvious.

"Ah." He looks back up at Armand "Well, my name's Karal, I'd stand, but" he gestures to the lap full of firecat that doesn't seem to want to move. "You already know Altra, I take it?"

[sweariwontdie]

"Yes, he's a remarkable creature. I'm Armand St. Just." He grins and hopes it shows in his voice.

[sight_enough]

He does hear the smile and responds in kind "He is, but don't say that too often in his presence, he'll get conceited."

[sweariwontdie]

"You mean he isn't already? No one else I know has managed to get an agreement from my father without swearing an oath back to him. Feanor is big on oaths."

And here Karal may be able to hear the hesitancy, even through Armand's unfamiliar accent. "Be welcome here, Karal."

[sight_enough]

He laughs "A cat can always be more conceited."

He hears the hesitancy, and responds in his 'diplomatic' voice "I thank you, Armand"

"I'm always around somewhere if you or Altra don't know something."

[sight_enough]

"Thankyou, you're too kind." He smiles honestly.

"Hardly that, but new people get easily lost around here."
