Alyss had not meant to see this entrance, of course. She was not looking for it. But don't things happen when one least expects them? Alyss is rather startled at the man's sudden appearance and moves back with a surprised "Oh!" before she studies the man.
It's the scars that catch her interest and she tips her head.
With sudden conviction and a far off voice, as if in disbelief she speaks. "I know you..." But where? How?
Dodge had not meant for his entrance to be seen. He had not meant to fall; in all honesty he had not consciously meant to stand at the Pool of Tears in the first place. But here he was, wet and in a foreign world...
Standing in front of someone very familiar. Someone who had also fallen into the Pool of Tears, long ago.
He nods some, the image of composure. "We were friends once. They said you were dead."
"Age has nothing to do with it." Dodge explains, as he always has. "You are the Princess, Alyss. Even in death you are honored like one, and now that you're alive... you can reclaim the queendom."
"Nothing is impossible, Alyss." Dodge states with certainty. "Not if you are here, alive and safe. We'll find a way to contact General Doppelgänger and he will think of a strategy, something to defeat Redd."
... that's right. This place isn't Wonderland. He'd allowed himself to forget for a moment in his excitement, in spite of the dripping clothes hanging from his form. "There must be a way. You may have given up, but I've yet to begin looking."
"Truly? He is thought dead too. The both of you have become little more than legends. If anyone would know a way back to Wonderland, it would be Hatter."
He holds out his arms some before dropping them back to his sides. "That seems to be the case."
"Did you arrive here from the Pool of Tears too? How odd, three Wonderlanders should end up in the same place."
This makes Dodge frown some, before he wipes the emotion from his face. Alyss had once had the most powerful imagination in Wonderland... That it was not working was worrisome.
"All of the supporters of White Imagination have missed you, Princess. There is even a resistence group in your honor, the Alyssians."
"You died young. Were thought to have died young, anyway... your youth and innocence inspired those of us left. We fight Redd's forces in your name, to honor your memory." Dodge explains, proudly.
"But you aren't a memory anymore. You're here, we stand a chance."
It's the scars that catch her interest and she tips her head.

She's quiet. "You're sopping."

"Let me see." And she closes her eyes, attempting to use her imagination to dry his clothing, but with no luck. "...I supposed as much."
"I have missed you."

"Alyss. Please, not Princess." Words fail her after that. "...Why after me?"
