Sweeney gapes at the gold, his eyes are as big as saucers and there very well may be drool involved... I think you broke his brain, Ilmarinen.

"... Holy fuck." he manages to whisper reverently. With a shaking hand he reaches out to touch one of the golden maidens. "Holy fuck!" he says again, giggling madly as his fingers make contact.

After an admiring look at the torque and armband, he pockets the jewelry and tries to figure out how best to go about stashing his brand new golden harem. Like any leprechaun, the most important part of having treasure for Sweeney is the stashing.

Do they meet your plans and longings? Are they all that you expected?

"AH! Fuck!" Sweeney nearly has a heart attack. He only had eyes for the gold, see.

He gets a hold of himself. "Shit, you gave me a scare there. The babes are fucken amazing. How the hell did you make them?"

*raises his brows at the exclamation--he's never seen someone so taken with his work!* After making silver serpents, hissing lies and biting poison--after making copper fir trees, overgrowing the unwary--after these mistakes destroying--then I gave the wind my bellows, let it fill them as it wanted; first the north wind heavy-blowing, then the west wind bringing snowfall, then the east wind soft and sighing, then the south wind warm and fertile. So then did the metal cooling take the shape of golden maidens, wind-inspired, meanly crafted, for my hands to finely chisel into forms of fairer beauty.

"Oh," says Georgiana, and touches the harp, reverently.

*should she touch the strings, a soft, heartbreakingly melodic sound will reverberate through the air--and it's almost too bad, that in the harp-music is a voice, growing steadily louder and louder, which tells something about Georgiana that she has kept hidden (which this typist, apologies, does not know--)*

Strange; was that faint voice coming from the harp? She leans in close and plucks a small melody on the strings again, this time pausing to listen as the voice increases in volume and clarity...(possibly mentioning how she thinks wicked, wicked, unladylike thoughts about her fiance...)

*if she should continue, though, even out of sheer morbid fascination, the voice will get raised to a shout--*

*and Ros will be watching his golden fish flicker and move at the bottom of a bowl of water with an expression of pure and absolute wonder, tentatively touching the top, making ripples --*

*oh my. So, we assume Fëa returns to his forge at some point to find - a lot of destroyed, unwanted works?*

smithofwainola December 17 2006, 19:19:32 UTC
*nope--Ilmarinen melted them back down again. the ones that didn't escape. he probably instead finds sleigh-tracks from the door to the woods--and possibly boat-tracks, as well*

*well, as long as the doors or trees haven't been torn down...*

smithofwainola December 17 2006, 22:53:35 UTC
*nothing torn down--although at the moment Ilmarinen is chasing the sleigh through the forest, and Feanor might just hear him swearing in Finnish somewhere over the hills--then the swearing will pause, and after a moment, Ilmarinen will begin lumbering back to the forge. he has to work smarter, not harder. if he can just make a rope that will catch anything it's aimed at--*
