And so we reach the end...

...and I still don't really know who to vote for. It definitely wont be the BNP because I'm not an ignorant toe rag. It definitely won't be Labour because they have had a go and demonstrably screwed it up in my opinion, and it won't be UKIP because they seem to be a resting ground for some of the really unpleasant elements who used to be part of the Conservatives. Other than that, all bets are still on, both major and minor.

Why? Well, two reasons. Firstly, because I haven't heard anybody explain how they are going to sort out the elephant in the room, namely how to get us only spending on ourselves what we earn. Everyone is on about fairness but a country is no different from a business or a person. If you consistently wish to spend more than you can earn (or in this case tax) then sooner or later the bailiffs will be called in and that will be bad.

Messrs Brown, Clegg and Cameron, you have all failed in this respect.

Secondly, because although I shall be glad to see the back of Gordon Brown, this is because of his naive and inept performance as a Chancellor (his time as PM he hasn't been too bad to be fair, but he had already messed up by then). It is not because he is older, uglier and less charismatic than the other two leaders yet this is what the decision is fundamentally getting made on. Why no Ian Duncan Smith? Why no Menzies Campbell? What did these two do wrong other than be older, uglier and less charismatic than the two current incumbents? This is no longer democracy at work, this is the X Factor to decide who takes charge of a £600Bn organisation. Jeez...

Right. Rant over. I shall vote tomorrow evening if anyone cares, and am happy to be persuaded between now and then if anyone can do it on sensible terms then please do.
