Boo!!:( and YAY!! for Aiden and Keeley

So I was starting to believe I might get off easy with Aiden on the whole kids playing with their poop thing. He had yet to do it and didn't seem to want to. He would tak off his diaper but only to be naked not to see what was in it. Well today he showed me I was wrong.

He must have been awake for about an hour or so because he made one noise but no more so I thought he was doing it in his sleep. Then about an hour later he woke up and started yelling or so I thought.

I opened his door and as soon as I walked in I smelled poop. At first I thought maybe the diaper pail was just that bad somehow. But then I saw my son covered on his hands feet and belly, blankets, pillow but luckily not the wall with black stuff. Then I realized the diape next to him. Remembering he got into the container of blueberries and ate way too many the day before explained the color so that didn't worry me. I got him into the bath and got him to sit on his training potty for a little while in front of the TV while I went to clean up the mess.

When I came back he had just gotten off his potty but there was nothing in it. He is not potty trained by any means but I am slowly easing him into the idea. I'm trying to be more consistent but I wasn't thinking he was quite ready until today. After the poop incident I decided I need to keep it up much more consistently.

Shortly after all of this I fed him a PBJ sandwich without thinking but oh well one more bath won't hurt. I put his sister Keeley in her high chair and fed her some pears peices and then decided to try a biter biscuit with her for the first time. You know... the ones that are sorta sweet hard toast sticks... used to be called melba toast I guess. Well I put it in her hand and it immediately went in her mouth! She has only done that once with a spoonful of applesauce so I was surprised. So she's already developing some self-feeding skills.

Yesterday she also finally scooted to me... less than a foot and I've known she could for a while but she is finally not being so lazy about it. She also started saying mama and baba at appropriate times even though it was the first time she even said it. And she sits up for a couple minutes no problem on her own which she could do for longer but she just doesn't want to. So she is advancing all at once now.

Now the big YAY for Aiden happened today when I was on the phone with grandma. I call her just to have adult conversation and I know she is lonely so it's good both ways. Aiden started squatting and farting like he was trying to poop so I got his diaper off quick and put him on the potty. He quite content there just sitting and watching TV. Then I looked over and he had gotten up... just when I was about to put him back on I glanced and saw it... HE POOPED ON THE POTTY!!! I made a huge deal about praised him by clapping saying good job and yay aiden very excited and I even told him because he pooped on the potty he could run around without a diaper for a little while. He LOVED that!

So I just wanted to share my exciting news with everyone and see if anyone else has an 18 month old at the same point with potty training and see if maybe we can share things that seem to be working with our little poop machines LOL.

I hope nobody thinks I am forcing him into this because I really am not. At first he used to cry when I tried to show him how to sit on the potty so I didn't push him. One day he just sat on it himself and I started showing him to sit on it naked a couple days later when he seemed comfortable with it with his diaper on.

keeley saying mama, potty training aiden, playing with poop, keeley babbling, keeley scooting, keeley saying baba
