Ease My Mind
University is about learning and doing different things. Not just in your classes (though those are a major part) but in the rest of your life as well. Some people adjust really well, some people don't and yet some more people try to make everyone have the same views as they do. It's the latter that bother me, they remind me of my step-father back in middle/high school, and unfortunately there are at least five of them I see daily. Some are more subtle, some are outright, but all have something they're trying to influence; from religious views to music at three in the morning to how I should run the house.
No, Person #1, I do not want to support His House, nor do I want to go to a meeting. Haven't I told you that ten or fifteen times before? Stop giving me those looks every time you see me. Persons #2 and #3, the next time you bang on your floor/my ceiling with a fucking broom handle I'm going to come up there and crack it on your skulls. Seriously guys, are you blitzed out of your skulls nightly to be this stupid? Just because you want to party every night doesn't mean that I want your music making my head thrum with the beat.
Person #4, self-righteous doesn't look good on anyone. I know what I'm doing, I'm an adult, guilting or disapproving doesn't serve any good purpose. Do as you will, I'll do as I will, and continue to keep my impressive G.P.A., presidency, job, vice-presidency and representative statuses. Person #5... you don't like what the house is or isn't doing, you think we should do more. Newsflash for you, you never help plan or put together, and you haven't shown up for a single goddamn house event. How do I know? I've kind of been to them all. Right now we've got our paint project and T-shirts pending with a PMS night coming up and possibly really fun activities if girls show. Please, don't whine when you haven't even come to a single meeting, go have another DDR party or something. Saying one thing and doing another then complaining because you didn't have the chance? Bad, because you did have the chance. Don't go questioning me and my dedication just because you never do anything. And no, this does not serve a good purpose other than me venting so that I sleep well, so none of you should be remotely offended.
Thanks to Erica, the thrumming of music above me has stopped for awhile. I'm popping in the Golden Girls, rolling over, and going to sleep. Anymore banging with a broomstick though, and someone's going to have to pay my bail because there will be assault involved. I know these guys, a touch more respect would be nice, I kinda do keep their hall clean. At least I already thought #2 was a bastard for what he did to Sally, no illusions there.
Also - I experience Woven Paths as I remembered Pagan Moon to be when I first started. Fun, and yet informative. It went surprisingly well, and I was very pleased.
