Examples of Why Katie's Family Needs to Learn How to USE THE GODDAMN PHONE!:
1) She was only today informed of the fact that her grandfather, the one whose surgery had her sitting in the hospital for eight hours, had to go back to the emergency room on Wednesday until Thursday due to serious complications that involved bleeding, IVs, a catheter, and a spazz-tastic grandmother who was worried about said grandfather for perhaps the third time since they turned forty.
2) Also today, she learned that her great-grandmother has heart surgery yet again on Monday and will have to stay a minimum of two days, perhaps up to a week, because there is a high risk of complications.
I could go on, but those are the two from today, and I was only informed because I called down there. This is why I call my great-grandmother every week, usually on Wednesday, because if I don't then someone might die and no one would remember to call and tell me. >.> One advantage of having my mother live so close is that she remembers my existence more than only when I call and informs me of what is going on with her side of the family. A disadvantage is that people on that side forget she exists too. My family was obviously not meant to be separated by distances this great. What're they going to do if I move out of the state? Or when Kristen goes to Alaska?
This weekend is kind of laid-back. History class tomorrow, and the rest of the day I'm supposed to do something with Lee, probably walk to the beach if it's not too frigid. That's a really big if, because it's been getting colder and colder and isn't showing any signs of stopping. But hey, that's January in Marquette! Next weekend, on the other hand, is nice and busy. Dale K on Friday with Lee, Mandy, Cam, etc. etc. etc. and hockey on Saturday. Yay for fun, busy times at college.
Not yay for now going to finish my Economics homework >.> Or for the fact that I'm now going to worry about my grandpa and my great-grandma. Geez, didn't they get the memo that if they're going to do these things they need to do them at separate times and when I'm present?
